Re: Will the truth come out how this administration made blunder after blunder?
I don't really understnad how it can be expected that at the same time as we are scrambling to get masks for our own hospitals we should be sending what we have away.

What happens when the Canadians become desperate and refuse to send any medical personal across the border, or threaten not to export any materials used for medical supplies. Was it worth it for masks?

Re: Will the truth come out how this administration made blunder after blunder? Trudea can declare an emergency of some sort and deny any medical personal from leaving Canada. That would cripple the Detroit medical system as many of them are Canadians, plus it would deny New York the possibility of Canadian medical professionals coming over to help. Trudeau would score political points for doing such a move in retaliation to the US ban on exports.

Iím not sure why we want a dumb medical trade war in middle of all this.

Re: How should schools and parents deal with tuition?
Why aren't schools taking advantage of PPP ? This should be a no brainer for almost every school. The issue I'm struggling with at my organization, is the 2 month payroll comes right up to June when we furlough half our hourly employees every year for two months (college break). But if schools pay teachers salaries based on 12 months, then PPP is a no brainier...

Many of them probably are, and will charge tuition anyway.

Re: RIP/BDE Master Thread - COVID-19 related
Our communities were hit pretty hard because we're a community. I don't think the numbers are any different than the general population, but as a community we feel for each other much more than anyone else. A goy in Monsey doesn't have any out of the ordinary feeling for another goy in Crown Heights, but a yid feels for another yid no matter where they are.

We are harder hit simply because we care for each other more.

If we take our percentage in the general population we were hit a lot harder than others. In Toronto about 10% of all critical cases in the city were Orthodox Jews. Thatís over 100 times our percentage of the general population. The numbers in NY are probably way out of proportion as well.  If we compare Orthodox Jews be the rest of the state.

Re: Corona virus and your shul Overalll there are I think four types of people by these minyanim
1) the smart-alek type that think itís not dangerous and no one knows what they are talking about.
2) the people that feel this is the only way they are Jewish.
3) the people that need to socialize.
4) the people that donít care too much about others.

Itís like we have our own ארבעה בנים.

Re: Antisemitism related to Coronavirus
What rule is there not to go to outdoor parks if you are keeping to social distancing?

There isnít, but anti Semites  are very good at making stuff up, or taking things out of context.

Re: Covidiot/Foot in mouth thread Truthfully I think we are all becoming kind of crazy, and if this keeps on going we all keep on becoming crazier and crazier.
Check out the forums for proof.  In the future psychologists will discuss the "Corona Effect".

Zoom schools Now we have weeks or months ahead of us with no proper schools. The best option is zoom classes, although many schools wonít have it. Wondering if some schools that do provide zoom classes would be willing  to offer parents with children in other schools the chance the pay some money and be able to have their kids join the class.

It would create extra revenue for schools that provide zoom classes, and provide children education instead of watching entertainment and climbing the walls.

Re: Compliant weddings
how long does everyone think it will take for weddings to return to normal?

These are normal,  the weddings that we had up until now were not.

Re: How many hours of 'remote' school do your kids have?
One major point Klal Yisroel has been making is that it is far too dangerous to be in the hands of children, and itís fire. There is very good rationale to back that up so itís not necessarily a terrible decision to stay away from it in these times as well if possible

Your analogy is correct, we all have fire at home, and make sure to keep its dangers away from children. Point being we have to be very smart about it, but just saying stay away isnít necessarily the only option.

You make it sound like this was an accident.

This bill was passed by both parties, the blame is on both.

Re: Corona virus and your shul The blame lies partially with the supermarkets. Supermarkets in most places have no limit on how many people can go in at a time, and people stand crammed together at checkout. That led people to rationalize why do minyanim have to be different.  The thruth is that the supermarkets that were open with no restrictions, the restaurants that had everyone cramming together at the checkout line,  are just as much to blame.
