Re: Antisemitism related to Coronavirus
Tell me what is wrong with that? Shuls that are ostensibly closed are open for business with shades drawn. Outdoor minyanim with no social distancing and people walking back and forth all of davening. Stores crowded to the gills. I dont blame them for saying that there is a problem in our community. Its not outliers. Thats an outright lie. Its a large percentage. Just drive the streets of Boro Park any morning and ask anyone walking with their tallis and tefillin where they are going. If we were so righteous and it was only outliers you wouldnt see that many. Then again the person behind this account has his own version of everything.
Does that suffice for largely? Thousands of people are at home you see tens on streets still don’t think to much of a bigger percentage by our community

My knowledge of the industry. It is much further off and I expect that it will be avoided before it actually happens, but it will take a change in trajectory.

thanks was scratching my head for some time now first time I saw putting together overall immunity from the virus with immunity from the vaccine most articles only focus on vaccines

Re: Getting Corona Virus Twice
Literally the same thing over and over.

It made sense when they said it didn't transmit human-to-human, but then it did. It made sense when they said it wasn't airborne, but then it was. It made sense when they said hydroxychloroquine would fix it, but then it didn't.

I'd like more than one study of 227 people in SK before we make actionable decisions based on it.
Not sure that’s a good comparison there were no studies on either of those things mentioned if I remember correctly this a study by the country the has the bast hand and data on the virus
But by all means we do need a much larger study which I still can’t understand why were net hearing of any

Re: Getting Corona Virus Twice
How do you study such a thing in anyway besides for looking at the data and seeing that no one who recovered - testing negative (with antibodies) - has again be reinfected. They aren’t gonna go and inject people with the virus and see if they get reinfected.
The same way they test vaccines ?

Re: Dropping Antibody Levels
This is not my field, but here's how I understand it:
The graph is just meant to show how symptoms and antibodies change over time, but is not showing real data (note the lack of numbers on the y-axis and the Disclaimer below the graph).  The red line shows that IgG decreases after the infection has been fought off, then the line stops in midair. It doesn't necessarily mean that the levels plateau there, just that nobody knows exactly what will happen next.  Like the edge of medieval maps, where dragons and sea-serpents indicated that nobody really knows what's beyond this point.  It IS normal for the body to stop wasting energy producing a specific antibody when it's no longer needed, but it's not yet known how quickly the levels will go down, how far, for how long, etc.

The text on the graph seems a little misleading, where it says "IgG provides long-term immunity".  The ability to fight off future infections does not occur because of the presence of those antibodies in the blood, but rather because of the presence of memory B cells, which "remember" how to produce that particular antibody.

During the first infection, antibodies are produced to fight the infection, which (in this graph) took about 12 days to reach an effective level, and in the interim, the virus caused disease symptoms.

In a second infection, the memory B cells pour out IgG antibodies immediately, reaching an effective level so quickly that the virus is neutralized before symptoms can appear.  So IgG IS involved in long-term immunity, but it's not the remaining antibodies from the first infection, but rather similar, newly-produced IgG antibodies.

This is diagrammed on Fig. 2 on this page, don't know how to insert:

So this might be what yeshivabucher expressed in other words:

As someone who is learning this stuff right now, I can tell you all that immunology is frighteningly complex, and unless anyone in this thread has expert knowledge in it (and can interpret things like this:, I suggest that this is all an exercise in futility.
As you guys sound pretty knowledgeable maybe you can explain for the the simple guys what would prove immunity and why a lot of Doctors are saying it might take a long time to prove it
For example say its memory B cells you need can’t someone be tested for their presence?

Re: Will the truth come out how NYC & NYS made blunder after blunder?
Where in the world are you getting your data from? From Crown Heights they’re seeing a number like 40%. In Lakewood, from a drive that only accepted people with real symptoms and exposure (confirmed positive test preferred) only about 80% had antibodies.

From here we’re seeing 60% (tiny sample size obviously)
These are supposedly the numbers in Bobov one yeshiva 66 percent the other 70

Re: Silvercar Master Thread Thanks @Joel2 for updated codes
Had similar experience with reservation returned hour to early and charged inn full  agent claimed they are very strict with the Audi codes
Their pricing works You have one hour grace period from the time you need to return after that each hour is considered 1/4 of day till four hours when you are charged for a full day so when returning you must make sure it’s at least four hours later then time in day you picked it up if that’s your fourth/second day

CSP coverage states:
I guess I'll use amex premium. United I go for their liability insurance as well.
Quote from ddms (assuming @Dan did his research)
Both AMEX and Chase cover the CDW insurance for an Audi A4, A5, Q5, or Q7, just select personal coverage when renting and write AMEX, Chase, etc.
