Re: Bingo wholesale club in Brooklyn
The law says there’s a fee for paper bags, not plastic.
They are only breaking the law for a fee.

No water there this morning
What's the hype about the water, they're afraid the sink water will be contaminated from Corona beer?

Re: Stocks
What is an overreacted plummet? 100, 500, 1000 or 2k points or more? The market reacted by going into bear territory. Was that an overreaction or overdue?
Figure it out. Good Shabbos.

Re: Tweets, Pictures, And Videos That Are Coronavirus Related
Do the math

COVID - 3% vs. H1N1 - 00021%
Don't forget this, From the op-ed on DDMS, heard the exact same thing from another doctor too.

"Although the current mortality rate is quoted as 3.4% when compared to the flu which has a 0.1% mortality, I personally believe that the mortality rate from this disease is much less than 3.4%. This is because a majority of patients have a mild illness similar to a cold or mild flu, and they do not come to clinical recognition, that is, they never see a doctor. Mortality rates are calculated based on putting the number of deaths in the numerator and the number of people with the illness in the denominator. Since a large proportion of people are not reporting their illness, because they’re not very sick, the denominator is actually much larger than the current data suggests, which would bring the mortality rate down significantly. I believe as we get more experience with this virus, and have more testing, we will see a fall in the mortality rate."

Complete disaster waiting to happen
Dear @yuneeq, I was able to handle your alarming posts as long I saw the smiling Pizza pie on the left side, now with this enlarged piece of corona instead, you're throwing me into total panic! Please!

Re: When is this all expected to be over?
For you @CountValentine

It is said, “For this, let every pious man pray to You in the time of finding, that the overflowing waters may not reach him” (Psalms 32:6). With regard to the phrase, the time of finding, Rabbi Ḥanina said: The time of finding refers to the time one must find a wife, that one should pray to find a suitable woman to marry. As it is said: “He who finds [matza] a wife finds [matza] good and obtains favor from the Lord” (Proverbs 18:22). In Eretz Yisrael, the custom was that when a man married a woman, they would ask him: Matza or motzeh? In other words, they would ask the groom whether the appropriate passage for his wife is the above verse from Proverbs that begins with the word matza, as it is written: “He who finds a wife finds good and obtains favor from the Lord” or whether the more appropriate verse is the one beginning with the word motzeh, as it is written: “And I find [motzeh] the woman more bitter than death” (Ecclesiastes 7:26).
Hang around too long on a Lubab blog and you'll see a Litvak starts teaching Torah to a goy ;D

Re: Shop Local!! (When it's safe to do so) Worthy to add that at this time when there are no mikvas available, it's not that smart to purchase your Pesach kitchen needs online, and then struggle to figure out where to toivel them, vs. shopping at your local store with a mikva on premises.

This is something which gets lost. Underlying condition does not mean that they were about to die. Many could have lived for quite some time had they not been hit by this virus.

Re: What are we going to do Chol Hamoed?? [UPDATE: And with kids home from school?]
give them toys 1 for each child minus 1
example you have 7 kids, give them 6 toys it will keep them busy a nice few hours fighting over it
I didn't have to come up with anything to make my kids fight around all day long..

Re: Everyday day things that you now say "Wow glad I have that".
Lets the idiots go back to where they came from. This is America, we speak Spanish!!!
You know the story with a Latin immigrant who worked in a Jewish supermarket and spoke a perfect Yiddish, to everyone's pleasure, so someone asked the owner, "How do you taught him Yiddish so well", the owner answered "Shhh, this poor guy thinks I'm teaching him English".

Re: This is getting serious... a somber thread about COVID-19 You need to listen to your Doctors about your physical and health behaviors, you need to listen to your Rabunim about your spiritual and yiddishkeit behavior. Rabunim are not medicinal  or disease experts, they bear a total different responsibility, and let's not undermine that.

Re: Corona virus and your shull
This is also the sad outcome of hagiographic biographies of the personages of the previous generations where stories are told of mesirus nefesh for [fill in the blank] when in fact those stories never happened or are embellished beyond any truth. The mesirus nefesh in the concentration camps was by individuals not hundreds or thousands.
Among the chilul hashem that is going on on this thread, the above one is on a total different level of low. Very sad to see how some emerge with their true colors in this crisis.

Re: Coronavirus Victims Charity Pages

This is my page, I'm trying to raise whatever I can for the Friedrich family - he left 11 yesomim, including an 11-week old infant.
Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated - and תזכו למצוות!
Donated in your honor. I have an immense pleasure reading your TR, I owe you a lot.

And of course this is a heartbreaking situation, helping with raising funds is the least we can do.

Because it's the Post?

But maybe that part tells us how much credibility we can give for his sons allegations?

The place I know of, everyone is Oleh from where they are standing, so if your at seat #45 you stay there and say the bracha from there.
How can one be Oleh without actually reading from the sefer torah??

If we can avoid stores OOT for 4 weeks before Pesach, you probably can too.
Online shopping only possible OOT these days.

They said no fires this year, so people sold the ten pieces of bread to a goy instead, and that's how CV got the wooden spoon..

Re: Halachik Status of Illegitimate Minyanim
He doesn’t. Pure שומע כעונה.
So now you know more than Rav Shternbuch? Seriously. It's a halacha in Shulchan Aruch that we give a suma an aliyah. He reads along with the baal koreh (in this situation the oleh would do the same, just reading from his chumash along with the baal koreh).

With that said, I would like to see the psak of Rav Moshe Sternbuch, If someone can post it please.

Re: Halachik Status of Illegitimate Minyanim
What are the actual Gedolim doing and why won’t they make their position public?
Depends where, Chasidishe don't oppose it for the most part, same as they do it in Israel. There is no unanimous consensus to oppose backyard/porch minyanim as it may sound here again and again.

Re: COL video about Maimonidies, a must watch
The hospital starving him was a little far fetched.
Can't open the video, so can't comment anything on that. But I heard "first hand" from multiple people who waited for a cup of water several hours. I heard from a very prominent doctor (Dr. Dov Landa) who was himself a patient in the hospital with the virus, that had he been 20 years older he wouldn't survive in these conditions. He blames (actually cried) that the protocol of not letting a single family member in costed many lives. NYU ftr.

Lakewood is probably gold comparing to Brooklyn with compliance, but thanks G-d the stone throwers here are quarantined. Other than reporting on the big funerals there isn't that much exposure B"H. Most likely due to different neighboring demographics.
