Chase British Airways Card Click Here to get more details on this card and compare to other cards!

There is a new Chase BA offer that can be seen here:

1 - If I did a 3bm with Chase about 40 days ago (Co, United and Sapphire) what are my chances of getting approved now with another 3bm for (let's say) BA, Freedom and SW?

2 - If I did the Chase BA 100k offer after spending 3k in 3 months, about 18 months ago, what are my chances of getting approved for this A)with my old BA FF number or B)a new BA FF number?

Thanks a lot!

Re: Chase Sapphire Reserve My experience (in short). Maybe it will help someone.

I opened 3 Chase, 1 Chase AU, and (supposedly, see below) 1 Barclay in last 24 months.

Applied for Reserve, got denied.

Called Recon. Rep was incredibly brusque. Didn't even say hello etc. just "let me check the status etc." - put on hold - "denied, too many cards opened in the last 24 months. Is there anything else I can help you with?".

HUCA'd recon. Next rep was rude "didn't you already speak to a colleague about this already?". Couldn't budge him, even by explaining that 1 of the 5 was AU.

HUCA'd recon. Rep asked me how I use the AU card. I innocently replied that I use it and then "we" (my wife and I) pay the bill. She pounced on that "so, you're telling me you are responsible to pay the bill of the AU, and therefore it counts as 5/24".

HUCA'd recon. Rep said no way to approve due to 5/24. I tried explaining that 1 was AU. She replied "your account was already noted by a previous rep that you are responsible for the AU". Ouch. I then asked her what the 5 were. She told me 3 Chase, 1 Chase AU, and 1 Barclay. I honestly couldn't recall any Barclay so I tried getting that discounted. She said you need to dispute with Experian.

Called Experian about the Barclay. They said the account was open and in good standing. I'm absolutely sure that I have no open Barclay account, even if I may have possibly opened one in the last 24 months (which I don't think I did). Seeing something was clearly wrong, I disputed the Barclay. They said can take up to 30 days, then 7 days to contact me.

I wasn't happy since after 30 days I would need to re-apply with Chase.

HUCA'd Chase recon. Told them I disputed the Barclay but it may take too long. The conversation was pleasant and rep was nice. After trying different ideas the rep suggested getting removed as AU. I got her to say point-blank that if removed I'd be approved and had her put those words in the notes.

Called Chase CS to get removed as AU. Rep thankfully mentioned to call Experian too, otherwise it would still show on my credit report.

Called Experian. Had AU removed.

HUCA'd recon. Asked rep to read notes of previous rep that if removed as AU I'd be approved. Rep read notes, put me on hold, asked questions, hold again, asked questions.....

$399 with code SAVE270MORE
Where do you find these codes?
They really bring down the price.

Re: Newark EWR Airport Parking Master Thread
Any good deals for Newark (EWR) parking now?
I need for 3 days.
I will answer my own question. Maybe it will help someone else.

The cheapest I found for the 3 days was about $21 with Extended Stay America, through "unitedairportparking" or "airportparkinginc".
However, their shuttle is only until 11 PM, which wasn't good for me.
Through "way" I was able to get for about $26 with Jiffy (no fees at lot).
This was cheaper than booking directly with Jiffy, and even cheaper than buying their Groupon.
That was my best option.

A few odd points.
1 - On "way" don't just book based on list price as different companies charge different fees and the final price may be more or less than what it seems. Rather add to cart and see final price then go back and try with another company.
2 - Not all companies always show up on the first list. Only after following through with one to the booking page and then clicking back, do you see all companies.
3 - Jiffy was listed with a generic "Newark EWR Parking" name. Only after booking can you see it's Jiffy.
4 - The email receipt didn't have a barcode to scan at the exit and we needed to go inside for them to print a barcode to scan.

Re: New Coin Deal
they are only matching if you requested prior to ordering as they are taking all the risk. I think the only issue of selling to someone else is that he will be considered mechuser nemenah and if he thought they will match even post ordering or never thought the prices will go up so much than he would be allowed to sell to someone else.
Unfortunately, my order didn't go through (but not for lack of trying).
However, had I gotten a coin I definitely would not sell to anyone else even if they offered much more.
PFS was very clear that if I opt-in I need to sell to them.
My word is a word.

Re: New Coin Deal
Hey guys quick question. So I ordered the famous 2019-S Enhanced Reverse Proof $1 American Silver Eagle PCGS PR69 FS FLag Label coin. I got lucky, but I already told PFS buyers club I would opt in. Is that legally binding? They already sent me a prepaid shipping label but I'm realizing I can make much more money without going through them. Thanks in advance for your input!
From your screen-name it seems you are a Frum person, so here goes.
As I wrote on a different thread:
According to Halachah, backing out puts one in the category of Mechusarei Emanah.
If there was a set of rules to agree to by opting-in, it could be a a lot worse than Mechusarei Emanah. Possibly even disqualifying the offender from being a Kosher witness!
This was what I heard from a Rav.

Re: Internet Filters
;) ;) ;)
Just a question that really bothers me:
Why is one Esrog $30 and the other one $499 they both do the same job!?!?!?
or even better why should someone pay for an Esrog $499 when he has one for $30?!?!?!?
No need to mock a legitimate question.
The point of the question was to ascertain if Nativ's filter is perhaps not as effective or causes the computer to slow down more, hence the lower price.
Above you answered that it's due to less support. A fair answer. No need to mock.

Re: Porting Nightmare
Funny, I was thinking the same at first. While they personally might not be able to help, they may be able to connect you with someone who can. Every once in a while these stores have a manager who actually knows what they're doing.  Also, they may be able to show you something on their end, in store, that you wouldn't be able to see over the phone, that may be helpful in solving the issue.

Re: Microsoft Office Bundle Pro 2016 for $14.99!!
They is no risk of malware as long as the installation comes directly from Microsoft.

The only thing your risking, is the license being blacklist/revoked.

Nu, $5 for a license for a year? Better than $250...
Thank you.
1 - Can you know if the installation is coming from Microsoft before you purchase it?

2 - How does Microsoft view it - ethically?
Are they opposed to it or (perhaps begrudgingly) ok with it?
I wouldn't want to use anything questionable, especially for Torah. (The Vilna Gaon is quoted as saying that if even one screw in one table in a Beis Medrash is from stolen money, the learning there is not the same.)

Getting Corona Virus Twice

Very scary.

A number of people I know, myself included, have been symptom free for 3-4 weeks but are now sick again.

A medical professional begged me to spread the word.

Re: Getting Corona Virus Twice
Please talk to your doctor to have your bloods drawn ASAP and check D-Dimer levels. You may have blood clots that manifest as severe muscle pain. You can have DVT that can travel to lungs and brain chas V'Shalom. 81mg Aspirin as short term safety measure to thin bloods until bloods come back.
Thank you.
I had a blood clot test taken today. Awaiting results.

Re: Getting Corona Virus Twice
In LKWD a very popular DR. said to ignore positive tests after clearing symptoms for a while, meaning in his opinion your not contagious.
This is a new virus that the doctors are just learning themselves.
That's why my doctor felt it's imperative that the word get out that starting this week in the Frum community people are seemingly getting it again.

April 24, 2020, 12:14:19 AM
Re: Getting Corona Virus Twice
Just a thought, is it possible the new symptoms are not COVID, and you tested positive just like all the other people who tested positive weeks after getting over the symptoms and presumably no longer contagious?
Defiantly possible.
No one really knows, as this is an entirely new virus.
A few doctors have told me so.

Re: When do you think International travel will resume?
I think that until a full cure or vaccination is widespread, there won't be anything close to normal. Maybe a few years.
My opinion is that a complete lockdown of international flights in many countries will continue for another half year.
That's awfully long.
I hope it's shorter than that.

Yes, although upthread someone (Shulem?) said it wasn't working for him either.

And what form did you fill out?
Originally, the basic unemployment form on the website. After that, the re-certification form every week. 2 days ago, some new form they linked to in an email.

Person 1: Self employed, his account finally shows an amount that he will make per week but does not show the 600. Will that come in?
If he's in NJ then he's in the same boat as all of us.
They finally started giving self-employed filers the minimum $231 per week but not the $600.
No one seems to know when they'll be giving the $600.

Re: Unemployment Help
Hooray just received this from NJ. Submitted early April, responded to questionairre next day, responded to second questionairre earlier this week.

Subject: Your claim is now eligible for payment of Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA)

You are also eligible for an additional $600 per week through Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC).

On Saturday, May 16th, the first day to certify for your benefits, please carefully follow the instructions below. There are multiple steps you will need to complete in one sitting. One set of questions will ask about your coronavirus pandemic-related need for unemployment assistance. A second set of questions certifies your weekly employment situation. You will have to answer the second set of questions for each week of benefits you claim.

Answering these weekly certification questions differently than described in the instructions will delay payment.

Review the coronavirus-specific instructions on how to answer the questions to certify for your benefits. Print out these instructions or keep the webpage open as you work through the questions.
Locate the exact half-hour timeslot on Saturday, May 16th that you are permitted to access the certifying system. Click on the "down arrow" on the "Saturday" box.
Login at your specific time on Saturday, May 16th through the link that says "Certify for Weekly Benefits." The process must be completed all at once.
Answer the questions on the PUA Self-Certification Page about your coronavirus-related situation.
Read and acknowledge the warning against unemployment fraud.
Review the instructions for certification for benefits. Again, print out these instructions or keep the webpage open as you certify.
Answer the certifying questions. Submit.
If the "Claim Additional Week" button appears in the center-bottom of the confirmation screen, click the button and complete a certification for each week available on your claim. There may be multiple weeks available to you, which would allow you to receive multiple weeks of benefits.
Continue to click on "Claim Additional Week" until that button no longer appears after answering the certifying questions.

Once you certify for benefits, you should receive payment by Wednesday May 20. You will also receive a separate payment for Pandemic Unemployment Compensation of $600 per week for each week for which you certified. You should receive those payments by Tuesday, May 26.

If you miss your scheduled certification time window on your scheduled day, you will be able to certify later the same day from 4:00-7:00 during your timeslot. If you miss your time on Saturday, you will be able to claim all weeks available to you during the week of Sunday May 17, according to the published schedule.

Please check back each Saturday evening as the schedule is subject to change to ensure a balanced load on the system. Beginning Sunday May 17, you should continue to certify weekly for benefits according to the weekly schedule for each week you remain unemployed.

Three tips to ensure timely payment:

Certify beginning Saturday, May 16, according to the schedule on our website.

Answer the questions according to the instructions to avoid delaying your payment.

Certify for each week available on your claim.
Check the weekly schedule on Saturday evenings and certify during your timeslot to keep yourself paid up to date.
Thank you for your patience as we expand unemployment assistance eligibility to meet your needs.

Division of Unemployment Insurance

New Jersey Department of Labor
Don't count your chickens just yet.
We got the exact same email a week ago and as I wrote above - 1) we only received the minimum $231 for PUA, 2) it was retroactive to the date of filing not the date of unemployment - which was 1 1/2 weeks earlier, 3) & we didn't receive any of the FPUC $600 a week.

May 15, 2020, 03:23:25 PM
Re: Unemployment Help
don't worry. i still did not get anything for the first 4 weeks... :-[

Re: Getting Corona Virus Twice As the one who started this thread, I'd like to make an observation.
Although I am scrupulously following the stay-at-home order, I see many people who have moved past it.
Yet, there is no new outbreak.
It makes me believe that people who have it do have immunity for some time.
In my case, perhaps it just never really left and flared up again later.

May 19, 2020, 03:02:52 PM
Re: Getting Corona Virus Twice
While Im not disagreeing with your premise that it seems immunity (at least to some extent) exists, there are many reasons that you would not be seeing a new large outbreak yet beyond immunity. This holds true in places everywhere around the world that have gone through this, including places where there has been a very small percentage of the population infected.

Some possibilities:
-There are far fewer infected people around now than before
-As much as people have moved past it, the amount of mingling between and beyond social circles is very very far from where we were previously. Think shuls, Yeshivos, stores, weddings. I know of someone who broke all the rules last week and had an 80 person indoor wedding. Compare that with the smallest typical wedding in Bais Faiga, which has a minimum of 350 people invited to the meal alone, which goes on in multiple places nightly. People keep certain standards of distancing everywhere, and there is still a lot of mask wearing and hand washing. This has a tremendous impact.
-Testing and awareness are way up.
-It is way too early to see an outbreak, as each passing day more and more people are getting lax. A week or two ago most people were still being much stricter than they currently are.

In summation, while I do believe (some) immunity is a thing and I think many people in my community have it, to arrive at that conclusion from your observation is unscientific to say the least.
I never intended for my observation to be considered scientific. :)
I do agree with your post. You raise very good points.
Time will tell.
May Hashem allow us to move past this (in a way that we are better than before).

Re: Unemployment Help NJ.

PSA 2!

1 - A woman who had a baby continued to re-certify each week but for the question of "are you able, willing & ready to work?" she checked "no".
She has not received benefits for the last few weeks due to this.
Yesterday she got a phone call from the DOL asking how long before she had a baby she wasn't able to work because they want her to refund the few weeks of unemployment from before the baby. This woman honestly answered that was able to work up until the baby was born, as she has done by her other births, and the money was not clawed back.
Then the DOL rep told her she can not claim in the future that she is able again to work until she submits a letter from her doctor that she can return to work!

2 - Once on the phone with a live rep (!), the lady asked asked why she wasn't getting benefits retroactive to the date of unemployment and not just from the date of filing her claim.
The rep responded that they are not automatically giving retroactive benefits (unlike what the Agudah webinar and LRRC are saying) unless someone specifically asks for it (which is impossible since no one can get through to a live person). This rep offered to open a claim for this lady.

Hope this info will be helpful to others.

Re: Unemployment Help
Would it be fair to say that NY state dep of labor is doing a much better job of paying claims in a timely manner and retroactive claims as opposed to NJ dep of labor?
Your statement is an indisputable fact (more than fair to say :) ).

Re: Unemployment Help
When asked the question "when was the last day worked" on her application she should have entered the date she last earned more than her WBR. That would have been her effective claim date.
You should be able to correct by talking to an agent at the DOL, but I know that's close to impossible in NJ...

NJ - I complained to Congressman Chris Smith's office a while back, and I got an email tonight from his office with a form to fill out. I'm attaching it here, so anyone else in NJ-4 can use it and email it back to him.

Also, were you successful in your appeal?
It didn't seem like it. Quite merciless attitude, if you ask me.
We'll wait and see what the letter says.

Re: Unemployment Help
In case you were hopeful things were getting better.

In the last week or two the NY DOL has fallen like I never would have believed. They've been messing up claims for no reason and then expecting the claimant to run after them to get it fixed, they've been lying to people outright about backpay being entered for processing or released, agents have been disrespectful and asking for documentation that makes no sense, and a million more I'm too frustrated to write about. Early on I had some respect for the effort they put in, maybe not noticeable to many waiting for funds, but compared to agencies in other large states they were very quick to get things moving. Now, they've lost it all and in my eyes have joined the ranks of CA's EDD, FL's DEO, and IL's IDES. A shande.
You left out NJ DOL - the worst of all.
