What's the best way to book? Looking to book ORD-DEN-LAX-LIH-ORD

First class.

What are my best options?

In theory I was thinking booking ORD-DEN-LAX-ORD with Delta (free stopover) and then just a sep BA ticket from LAX to LIH RT
but we all know how great Delta availability is.

Any ideas?

Re: AJK's YVR Surprise: A TR by His (Much Better) Half
Haha my wife thinks I'm nuts too. She called me today to ask me (for the 5th time this week) what card she's supposed to be using. And I quote: "Chase has too many blue cards, it's too confusing." But on the other hand, she does enjoy the free vacations :)

At least she's trying :)

Threaten to make em fly coach. That usually helps their memory to use the right card and go through the mall kick in.

Re: 2016 Election Pick Your Poison Master Thread I literally still have no clue who I'm voting for. But when you look at the way Trump acts and the things he says.. I just can't believe he's one of my options of who to vote for.
And yes I'm still seriously considering it.

What a crazy year.

How can any chicken be treated properly when the final result is they are slaughtered? ???

I hear that side too. But for those that eat meat and believe there are certain ways we should be treating animals we can be doing much better.

I went to the store to play with it the guy told me I'm out of my mind to switch from an S7.
Seriously? Out of your mind? If he would have said maybe he prefers the s7 over the Pixel even though both are great I could take him seriously. But with that extreme comment I'd be surprised if he actually even used it for more than a few minutes.

Re: Next Vacation - Ideas
We have 2 weeks of vacation AUGUST 19- SEP1 with a 3 year old, 9 yr old and 10 yr old. My wife is still afraid of zika, so carribean/latin america etc are out. Past 2 years we went to west coast and did SF/PCH/LA/SanDiego plus a week in Phoenix (thanks much to the wonder of DDF). Trying to figure out what to do this year with whole family that wont be a waste. assume decent amount of all types of major point categories. (would go to israel by default, but we will be there for 3 weeks in april, and possibly for succos)

Was considering Venice (really want to check out the new JW Marriott there esp with the currently scrumpcious point rate, plus book shabbos in the jewish ghetto for 4 nights with Citi Prestige) with maybe rome, but dont think its worth it to go around venice with my kids who will only really appreciate the pools and boat rides.

Was considering Hawaii (never been, would leave 3 yr old at kids club for bigger hikes), but the long transaction cost kind of upsets me, spending a whole day flying there (nonstop flights leave NY 8-10am) seems ridic with little kids.

Any other good options for a relaxing resort area the kids will enjoy with still some intrigue/preferably a place where we can explore and also get good kosher food?
Seattle, Vancouver ?

Re: Pesach Program in Greece Cancelled Just Now! I think the problems here are

1. People who are quick to judge things just because they are different, or new

2. People not explaining themselves well and just saying "its bad" when they may mean other things.

I myself also think that there is something distasteful IN GENERAL to this whole idea of what Pesach hotels have become. But I think it's a problem in America in general with the chase for luxury in extreme. And when you combine that with the idea of YomTov it can sometimes leave you with a bad taste.

I don't have an issue with people doing things different. Yes, there is something to be said for tradition but as the world evolves we'll always have things changing in different ways to the way things were done.

There are plenty of Pesach programs that are more "heimeish" if you will. And there are plenty of people going to Pesach hotels that are anything but heimish and are still there in the right spirit and I'm sure having a seder just as meaningful as some guy sitting at home.

And as a side note there are plenty of people who can't make Pesach for various reasons and plenty of people who ONLY KEEP pesach because there are Pesach programs etc.

I think the issue I have is more with our GENERAL focus of things that shouldn't be our main focus and this 'chase' for bigger, better, nicer that plagues our society at large. This is just one example of where we see it. So you have people looking at all the ads feeling like this is all wrong.

And then there folks who just think anything done different than what's always been done is "wrong" -

Re: Pesach Program in Greece Cancelled Just Now!
Exactly. Times change. Some old feeling won't be felt anymore as they did in the day it took a boat ride to cross the Atlantic. Those days aren't coming back.
We also have electricity by our Seders. Judaism and our kids will survive this too.

I do think as time goes on, especially at how fast the world is changing that without some effort from parents kids can end up missing out in being happy, understanding, appreciative individuals.

Bartenura makes something called Asti which is much nicer then the regular blue bottle.
Nicer bottle ? Or better taste ? I'm pretty sure blue bottle tastes better if I remember correctly.

And she finished the apology saying she applauds anyone who proudly lives their truth, when her movie makes no attempt to even slightly show Chassidim living their truth

It does attempt to show a few specific human being trying to live their truth. That idea is there.

But yes, this movie is NOT a movie about Chassidim and how they live exactly.

Re: Re: Interesting Articles...
There are many who use this issue to bash the community. That puts people who can resolve things appropriately on the defensive and makes it more difficult for them to do so since they are concerned that anything they do to resolve will be used to destroy. This is part of the answer to this.

That's going to happen either way. People are going to use the issue to bash the community no matter what you say. And do you HONESTLY think trying to convince them the problem is smaller than they think is going to help? If anything it makes it come across that your energy is all going into defending your community where if you really want to help your community you would work on helping the issue.

And just as a side note, if those bashing the community because of issues like this heard you say "you're right, we have an issue, let's work on fixing this" they may be a whole lot less inclined to focus on the bashing and start working together to start creating solutions.

When you defend a community that clearly has this major issue, it doesn't look to others that you're listening to the problems and wanting to be part of the solution.

Re: "One Of Us"
How is it a stable life to see your mother eating cheeseburgers and your father learning gemara?? I dont understand what you think is stable?
Listen, a kid from a divorced house is going to have some things to deal with even in the best of scenerios.
That's his pekelah.

And ideally a parent who changes his/her path still has the child's best interest at heart and plenty of times that means respecting how they were raised until a certain point.

Compromise should always be part of the picture. On both sides. And it won't be perfect no matter what.
But there is still something to be said for a child having a relationship with their mother/father.

You can't write off a parent just because they change their path.

It's not that I don't understand how complicated it can be. And I get not wanting to expose a kid to things but sometimes thats what life throws at you.

You shouldn't lose a child just because you change your path.

If that means becoming not religious.

Or becoming religious.

Some have a lot more ingredients than others.

And most aren't real 'Almond milk' (water that almonds were soaked in and nothing else)
