Re: Long Term Car Rental in NYC Def ymmv... I reserved a G on points in lax yesterday, was automatically put into a infiniti Q50, but i called and told them i wanted a SUV there, and drove out the q70.
It's much more substantial in lhr for example. I rented a compact drove out a Mercedes ML350 brand new fully loaded automatic. Price was base 47£ a week for 3 weeks!
Insane savings.. ;)

Re: Venice Master Thread what room is it? if it's the presidential suite - it's worth it. (I have clients staying in it this week - but for my negotiated rate.. much less).. otherwise - the service there is really subpar - may be worth checking out the new Venart Hotel - it's nearby and the design is stunning - only 18 rooms - but they are really really stepping up to the plate.
Location in relation to chabad is great too!

Re: how to open a travel agency It's a wonderful time to enter travel when the people inside think it's dying.

Don't listen to other people - when you see a good business opportunity, pursue it based on your research.

If you see a path to business success, and good profits, no point listening to others complain - if you have the hustle you can make millions.

I work next to agents who get paid 6 figure salaries - but bring in 4 times their salary for the company they work for every year. 4 long desks with 6 agents on each desk...

If you build your agency right... it can be super successful..

It helps that their clients are the top music stars/actors and CEO's in Hollywood - but hey - just goes to show that those people want Travel Agents.

Good Luck!!!

The Travel Collection - New amex benefit for gold and plat. The new travel collection membership fee is waived with an amex gold or plat, personal and biz.

There is very very little information out there about these programs, so having done hours of training I thought I would offer to answer questions here about the program.

1. There are some very good deals on air - both international and domestic on United. Business class to tel Aviv is an exceptional deal in every inventory.

2. The deals are on Air, cruise and land tours. Often times combinable with other deals, so just extra perks on for example cruises. Where you get shipboard credits, and then TTC extra credits.

3. Sign up is easy via the phone number, or via a registered Travel leaders group travel agency.

4. Bookings through TTC or a TTC agency are eligible for amex Pay with points (depending on your standing with amex obviously).
(I am not yet 100% sure about the 35% bonus back though. I have a ticket redemption processed so will know within a month if it posts the bonus. So far it is exactly identical to regular amex redemptions though.)

5. The TTC is brand new and will likely get much better over the next few months.

Feel free to PM me with questions.

Re: Kicked Out Of Centurion Lounge In LAS For Eating Kosher Sandwich I was in Phoenix DL Lounge a few weeks ago with wife and 2 kids.
We brought in kosher food from Kitchen 18 - and i asked the food prep employee's if we could get some whole uncut veggies for my kids to snack on as well.
After my (3yr old) kid being presented with a whole English cucumber and a bowl of cherry tomatoes and other veggies,
I witnessed a lounge employee expel another guest for bringing in outside food.
The agent was clearly aware of us eating our kosher food from kitchen 18 - and i think they just gave us a pass because they realized we couldn't eat the other food.
