What kind of warped logic is that? If the potential con was killing a million people, would you still say the pro's are definite and cons are maybe?ok. Now you lost me. You made a good point, he counters with a relatively good point and then you accuse him of warped logicwhile comparing 1. potential for escalating the violence round; To killing a million peoplenow we've escalated to an to irrational I stay out of this fray but y'all, on both sides, have turned me apolitical with this nonsense. Now I'm sure you'll come back and say you never compared the two despite the quotes and say I have reading comprehension issues bla bla bla but these forums have downgraded into such nonsense lately, I couldn't help but add my own. Glad you understand what defunding means.it means different things to many different people. According to protesters in Minneapolis it means shutting down the police department. Re: COVID-19 (Wuhan Novel Coronavirus) Pandemic Master Thread
They are not required to mask. You going to pretend they are safe?no idea. As one epidemiologist put it to me, "we're all part of the world's biggest science experiment". Since wearing a mask is at best a small discomfort that everyone can get used to fairly quickly, I'm big proponent of enforcing masks since experts tell that that has the best potential for stopping the spread. I personally still wear a mask. My rational is similar to my rational for wearing a seatbelt. Although a seatbelt hasn't saved my life or prevented injury in 33 years, I still wear it because it's at best a tiny, tiny discomfort which has the potential to save my life. (Seatbelts actually have a longer history of saving lives than masks do) When asked by someone in Lakewood why I'm wearing a mask, I responded , if I'm wrong, I've gone through minor discomfort and look a bit strange. If your wrong then people will start dying. " June 18, 2020, 10:43:18 AM |

Re: The Day After
My 2 cents:your wrong. Depends on the business. Take a successful caterer. The real money to be made is on big events. Fundraisers, large weddings, corporate events , etc. If a caterers business revolved around such events, those events are over in my locale through mid 2021 at least. You can't stay afloat that long with reimagining the whole business concept and turning into a takeout store. Just one example... Of course you can reinvent your business model but that's hardly called "your business surviving" that's opening a new business. June 19, 2020, 02:39:24 PM |

Re: Is the need to feel safe white privilege?
If someone experiences anti-Semitism does that mean they understand what a black person goes through with racism? The same questions goes with the situations reversed.nope But this conversation is really pointless. Of course going experiences allow to us to have a unique I understanding of a situation that others don't have, but that doesn't preclude those same people from empathizing with the suffering individual or community. A therapist is not required to allow themselves to suffer a specific tragedy in order to help individuals through said tragedies. Part of empathy is acknowledging that you cannot truly understand the suffering (even if you had a similar experience since no individuals are alike) while at the same time using the tos at our disposal to mitigate further suffering July 13, 2020, 09:41:44 PM |

Re: Which hotels have Two bedroom suites?
Moko - What is the rate of success in getting the upgrades to a suite (when there are suites at the hotel)? What level of loyalty status is that with?IME, approx 90%. I've only been turned down a couple of times when I really tried to get it. Sometimes, I'll request a confirmed upgrade from the hotel to a one bedroom immediately after booking and then request an upgrade to a two bedroom when checking (usually online). Most of our success has been with TownePlace and Residence Inn, though we've also received such upgrades at an occasional Comfort Suites (2 bedrooms are rare), Hyatt House, Embassy Suites, Staybridge Suites, Sonesta ES, and Candlewood Suites. Most recent upgrade was winter break at the awesome Residence Inn, Neptune, NJ in mid February. Re: Master Thread Of Jack6941's Awesome Amazon/Walmart Deals
I got in on this just before the price jumped over $100.just took it for a test drive today. By the time my trip is over I'll have tried it on 4 different aircraft. TL:DR version: it's a gorgeous looking, luxurious feeling briefcase but has some serious flaws as a carry-on . Now for the review: it's basically an oversized briefcase clipped onto a trolley. I'll post some pics after I get home. From rear to front. It has a double zippered sleeve to slide over a larger suitcase when not using the trolley. Then large pocket at the rear with a separate laptop sleeve insert. I don't really see the point, but they tout it as TSA friendly... Who doesn't have TSA pre ![]() The next pocket is your "office pocket" with a bunch of different document, card, and pen pockets. After that, is the 2 inch expandable zipper, followed by a slim full size pocket on the front of the bag which I found convenient for my laptop. Lastly, 2 side by side small front pockets meant for cellphones and the like. This pocket has a pretty serious flaw, since the "clasp" is a fake buckle magnetic button which opens fairly easily. The trolley overall feels flimsy and poorly designed. The wheels stick out a bit on each side of the bag and seem to constantly get caught on corners and aircraft seats. Surprisingly, it fit on a 200 overhead when place face down, wheels out. The clips also seem like they can put too much strain on the bag July 23, 2020, 02:49:58 PM |
