Re: Kosher, Kashrus and Hechsherim Master thread
Probably not. While I'm not commenting on reliability of the aforementioned hechsher, but are you aware that most companies run full production on Shabbos? As far as retail goes, Kof-K supervises BJ's bakeries open on Shabbos, OK certified Costco bakeries open on Shabbos, OU certifies Jewel bakeries open on Shabbos, KVH supervises Stop & Shop, Shaw's, and Star Market bakeries open on Shabbos. cRc certified Dunkin that's open on Shabbos. Whenever you have a major life decision, and you aren't sure what you should do, go to google.com (or go to your search bar if it defaults to google), and simply type "flip a coin". All your tough decisions will come to a quick conclusion.I believe that's how the CDC and WHO created their covid19 policies July 16, 2020, 05:32:49 AM |

Re: Which hotels have Two bedroom suites?
Moko - What is the rate of success in getting the upgrades to a suite (when there are suites at the hotel)? What level of loyalty status is that with?IME, approx 90%. I've only been turned down a couple of times when I really tried to get it. Sometimes, I'll request a confirmed upgrade from the hotel to a one bedroom immediately after booking and then request an upgrade to a two bedroom when checking (usually online). Most of our success has been with TownePlace and Residence Inn, though we've also received such upgrades at an occasional Comfort Suites (2 bedrooms are rare), Hyatt House, Embassy Suites, Staybridge Suites, Sonesta ES, and Candlewood Suites. Most recent upgrade was winter break at the awesome Residence Inn, Neptune, NJ in mid February. My wife wanted to wait to do YT clothing shopping when I went to kasher a pesach hotel near Lakewood but for some reason a friend urged her not to wait until last minute.... ![]() July 23, 2020, 06:11:13 AM |

Re: Master Thread Of Jack6941's Awesome Amazon/Walmart Deals
I got in on this just before the price jumped over $100.just took it for a test drive today. By the time my trip is over I'll have tried it on 4 different aircraft. TL:DR version: it's a gorgeous looking, luxurious feeling briefcase but has some serious flaws as a carry-on . Now for the review: it's basically an oversized briefcase clipped onto a trolley. I'll post some pics after I get home. From rear to front. It has a double zippered sleeve to slide over a larger suitcase when not using the trolley. Then large pocket at the rear with a separate laptop sleeve insert. I don't really see the point, but they tout it as TSA friendly... Who doesn't have TSA pre ![]() The next pocket is your "office pocket" with a bunch of different document, card, and pen pockets. After that, is the 2 inch expandable zipper, followed by a slim full size pocket on the front of the bag which I found convenient for my laptop. Lastly, 2 side by side small front pockets meant for cellphones and the like. This pocket has a pretty serious flaw, since the "clasp" is a fake buckle magnetic button which opens fairly easily. The trolley overall feels flimsy and poorly designed. The wheels stick out a bit on each side of the bag and seem to constantly get caught on corners and aircraft seats. Surprisingly, it fit on a 200 overhead when place face down, wheels out. The clips also seem like they can put too much strain on the bag July 23, 2020, 02:49:58 PM |

Re: Life Hacks, Post Your Favorites!
When the TSA first banned water bottles through the gate, a college friend of mine was pregnant, and traveling to Taiwan with her husband. He said that they should try this. I told him I'd love to be a fly on the wall when you try to explain to the TSA that it's really a solid and not a liquid.https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/ice Problem is, not all TSA agents are familiar with this and some will give you a hard time. Not worth the time and effort of trying to show them and escalating to a supervisor. July 27, 2020, 05:20:24 PM |

Re: Kosher, Kashrus and Hechsherim Master thread
What's the problem?do you check for an OU on every box if cereal you regularly purchase? Many don't. They should but they don't. Now say the 9oz box is has a kosher symbol, 12 oz doesn't, but the 16 oz does. Can you see how that might be confusing? Would if the case of 1.5 oz do but the 1.75 oz ones don't and they have an identical label. It's more if a widespread issue and the consumer should be aware. You also run into a similar issue where a product one region is certified but in another region the same product is not certified. Often the only solution is to decertify all of it. Re: JetBlue Kicks Frum Family Off Plane For 2 Year Old Not Wearing A Mask
I strongly disagree with the policy. If it's dangerous for a two yr old then it's dangerous for an infant as well. Two make the mandate apply specifically at an age known as "terrible" (twos), seems pathetically ridiculous. That said, basics in conflict resolution is to de-escalate. Explaining to the person in control why they're wrong and your right is the exact opposite. My two yr old would never keep a mask on for 30 seconds let alone a whole flight, but I wouldn't argue with the FA. I would apologize and stick it on his face knowing full well that he's going to rip it off in a minute. I would do that every time it was requested. I would also try and shield him from view of the aisle by sitting him in the window seat and trying to entertain him facing the window. August 19, 2020, 06:57:36 PM |

Re: Corona Time 3 Day Getaway to the Berkshires
A little late to this party (as usual). I have a family member with a house in the Berkshires that he allows me to borrow for a few days each summer. (He is not frum, I am, so it's nowhere near Jiminy Peak). There are always a lot of fun things to do in the area.and so much more.... This summer inspired us to purchase a couple of quality inflatable kayaks. The are is chock full of free hikes, waterfalls, lakes and rivers perfect for great free fun. I'm sure there are great spots like this all over the country. Maybe next year we can do a real multi day river excursion and.... August 26, 2020, 05:32:29 PM |

Re: COVID-19 (Wuhan Novel Coronavirus) Pandemic Master Thread
Disagree - had everything shut down the virus Numbers probably would have been really low what do you think would happen after 3 months of low numbers? A reopening...look at Israel! In hindsight You wouldn't open like Israel either - that's only now after you see what went on in Israel... To say that had we just known how deadly/catchy the virus is lives would've definitely been saved is wrong. We never saw a bad reopening, a NYC, a Sweden, We probably would've went the Israeli route at the minimum - and Israel saw a NYC and still did it that way....are you disagreeing with the first point? I didn't say lockdown was there solution. Acknowledging the virus and dealing with it is the solution. Trump's solution was literally to brush it under the rug and not deal with it September 10, 2020, 01:13:17 PM |
