Re: $15 off Amazon Fire 7 Tablets / $25 off Fire 8 HD Tablets
you have the option to pay with your gc balance after a regular purchase
I tried this but the system automatically removed the MR point from the payment as well as the $20 discount and wouldn't let me undo the change

Called customer service and they couldn't figure out how to combine $20 promo with GC payment, but they did give me a $20 credit towards a "future" purchase.

Re: $3.98 Kedem Grape Juice 64 Oz Bottles + No Rush Shipping Discount (YMMV)
At Costco 2 96 oz bottles are under $10 which makes it around $330 for each 64 oz. Some like the taste better and some like the 64 oz bottle taste.
64oz bottles are easier to handle and occupy less fridge space

Re: Visa Local Offers with Uber as much as 10 percent back at select stores.
Walgreens, Staples listed at 10%...
Has anyone tried this? On GC?
Have had mixed results on gc's at Staples.

I've done 10-15 purchases of exactly $413.90, but none of them produced Uber credit.

I've also done several GC purchases where the total charge on my cc is less than $413.90 (paid in part with Staples GC). Most of these times, I still didn't get Uber credit, but for one of them, I did. Total cc charge on that one was only $133.90 so I got a whopping $13.39 Uber credit (still a pleasant surprise).

Re: Visa Local Offers with Uber as much as 10 percent back at select stores.

You can buy GC with staples GC? Didn't know that. Which GC did you buy?

System allows it but sometimes cashier won't. I've purchased Amex, Visa, and Master card gc's with Staples GC.

Re: Load $20 Via Chase Pay & Get 300 Bonus Stars I'm not sure I see this as such a great value.

Many of us can routinely get Starbucks gc's at >50% discount (like through various Amazon promos or groupons).

That puts a value of $10 on the $20 reload.

300 stars get you 2.4 drinks. If you estimate that you'll redeem this for drinks that retail for $6 each, that's puts a value $7.20 on the 300 stars.
(2.4 drinks x $6/drink x 0.5) = $7.20
(The last factor on the left side of the equation is due to the 50% discount on Starbucks gc's.)

Seems like you're paying $20 for $17.20 of value.

Feel free to poke holes in my analysis.

What are the latest SUNs expirations (besides globalist ones) that are available?
I tried to delay approval and minimum spend as much as possible and ended up getting SUN's with expiration in mid November.

Mine aren't for sale, but hope that still helps.

Re: Pros and Cons of Different Banks I really like Schwab.

1. No fees maintenance fees regardless of account balance
2. Unlimited free checks
3. Unlimited ATM fee reimbursement
4. No foreign exchange fees
5. Account balance earns (low) interest
6. Deposits seem to clear faster than other banks - typically same day or next day

1. No way to readily deposit cash
2. Checking account requires a (free) brokerage account

I don't find the cons difficult to overcome at all. Pros 3 and 4 create a great alternative to currency conversion when you need cash abroad.

Re: PIT international arrivals/connection PIT has a special bag claim area on air side terminal for international arrivals. You definitely collect bags and go through customs in PIT (like any other US airport). There's a special area to recheck bags for connecting passengers also on airside terminal, but I don't see why that precludes you from just continuing to the tram to the land side terminal and leaving the airport.

My point isn't what I'm using it for. It may be a cash back card, but it's not part of my paycheck/budget. I hear your point, I think we pretty much agree. My main focus with points and miles, it to not pull cash out of my pocket. Stopping potential extra cash from coming in is ok.

Now I kinda feel bad. I use GrubHub to order a $10 sushi roll from 18 once a month just to use my Amex gold credit. I should ask them for a $5 bill instead of the sushi. At least they'd make a profit.
