Time to quit Amazon (and Prime)? https://www.vox.com/platform/amp/the-goods/2018/11/26/18112769/amazon-prime-cancel

Here's why I went looking for answers.
Today I asked Amazon if they can help me. I purchased an item 3 days ago and a nearly exact model was substantially cheaper with today's deal. I asked Amazon if they can work with me to match the deal, to which they replied "return the other item and purchase the new item". I suggested that it's not fair to the seller who now needs to refurbish the item at a loss greater than the difference in price... The chat agent was stone-cold "is there anything else you need from me?" and that's it.

We already know they don't care about sellers. We know they don't care about warehouse workers. What about the cities they inhabit? You think New York citizenry will possibly gain from this move? What about your spending patterns and behaviors, how have those changed in the last two years and how do you feel about that?

I know, I know... Recently you've been asked to give up Google, AirBNB, and now Amazon, what's next, SPG? C"V.

Re: Time to quit Amazon (and Prime)? THIS ENSUING CONVERSATION is exactly why abandoning Prime is a topic. Reminds me of the recent South Park episode relating to ads: we started talking about getting rid of Prime and the conversation veered to the 'ads' and popups...

You saved money on what? Who cares?! Black Friday deals? So now you have Spotify Premium for .99c and 4 Google Homes - you didn't even need ONE Google Home Mini?! You are paying money to have your data used to sell you more stuff. The $25 cost is only a make-believe barrier to entry. It's just a ploy.

PRIME DAY is a completely made up thing, and so we can become a more disposable society.

We continue to support an 'institution', a culture, that just sees us for our wallet. There's no humanity in anything they do. At our own demise. We're supporting a culture that trivializes our value as customers, and employees. I'm not saying I don't like robots, I'm suggesting that if Amazon is building these robots, they (AI/robots) will be singularly committed on enslaving us to continue giving them all our money - and then do exactly what happened here, excitedly chat about deals that bring us limited (3 minutes) of true happiness to our lives.

Re: Master Thread Of Jack6941's Awesome Amazon/Walmart Deals
When I see a product like this I finally understand how deprived our grandparents were.
I researched after I read this post. Holy mama, speaker in the bulb! Whoa.
