Re: The current state of COVID-19 in Israel
Don't know why the vaccination pace is still so slow. Only 52k yesterday and 30k of those was a second dose.

Pace picked up today Wednesday as of the evening update, it was 102k doses administered, half first dose and half second dose.

Re: Ideas in how to lower the temperature Still remember how viciously Dems attacked Bush, McCain and Romney. And Ben is anti Trump in half of his tweets. I hate Trump too, but Dems and the media (I'm repeating myself duh) are the most dishonest bunch in history.

Can't wait for them to attack the next Republican as worse than Trump.

Private security from an unidentified company got lost with an illegal unregistered firearm and 500 rounds. Makes sense.

Continue with your conspiracies.

Hmmm. Did he do any COVID transports lately?

I don't know, but what difference would it make how he caught it.

On a related note, a BP Hatzalah member told me today that most who just thought they had it in March didn't actually have it confirmed at the time, and most likely just got it now if infected.

Re: UK COVID Mutation
This is definitely very true among adults.

I was just thinking that its not even spreading among children in the frum community who are in school and also playing with friends and neighbors outside of school and for the most part are not practicing social distancing or wearing masks. I highly doubt they are being careful not to cough or sneeze in public, certainly not younger children like 4, 5, or 6 year olds. Nevertheless, there's no flu going around in that population either.

This theory makes sense, but basically you're saying that there was someone who had flu but stayed home and didn't spread it. Which means he got it from someone else who got it from someone, etc which is already more than the 0 flu cases reported this far. Unless flu is introduced somehow else, other than from person to person? And it was killed off immediately by lack of ability to spread?

I have no issue with flu not existing, I'm just finding it very puzzling.

There needs to be a match. If there is no match due to global conditions, it doesn't matter how close our kids are in school.

Re: Should Rabanim Be Open To Scrutiny?
Meh, there are plenty of timestamped videos going around of people arriving at the Tish 2-3 hours the videos of cops arriving and everybody else leaving. The cops won this match. Sadly the Israeli police is too corrupt to prosecute anybody & deter it from happening again.

You have no clue, that it's funny. Better this way.

Re: 2019-2021 Israeli Election (See Also: Definition Of Insanity)
Legally doesn't matter, even if Bagatz said so. Everything gets pushed off due to elections according to a חוק יסוד.

No surprise

Re: The current state of COVID-19 in Israel Positive rate in Israel was down to 6.73% yesterday. 147k vaccinated.
So far today the rate is 4.34%

Wondering how Purim will effect this. And wondering if that effect will be different due to ירושלים having a פורים משולש this year.

I don't think that it's due to reduced mingling. Is it? A huge part had it already, and masses are getting vaccinated every day.

Re: The current state of COVID-19 in Israel To understand why I believe the Israeli numbers must continue to plummet despite yesterday's hiccup, is that close to 1% of Israel's population (higher percentage of adults) reach full immunity status every single day.

Re: The current state of COVID-19 in Israel מתוך 6,095 חולי קורונה שהתאשפזו במצב קשה או קריטי מתחילת מבצע החיסונים, רק 175 היו לאחר מנת החיסון השנייה. 75 אחוז מהם כלל לא התחסנו.

Re: The current state of COVID-19 in Israel
Back of the napkin math - vaccine is 78% effective (for severe disease) after first shot.

25% of 6095 = 1524
1524 - 175 = 1349
1349/6095 = 22%

You can't calculate anything. This covers a period during which the population that was vaccinated varied significantly.

Re: Coronavirus Stimulus Aid Package
Cut it out. The American Charedim have never been is such great financial shape as they were/are in since Covid began. Unemployment to the masses, EIDL's, PPP X 2, Stimmies X 3, rent relief, retail grants, 2% refi's, soaring stock market, the list goes on. Maybe those at the top got more, but boy did we have a trickle down. Ask the guys who deal in silver, jewelry, and watches, and talk to any leasing guy and resi RE broker and the million mortgage officers that popped up like mushrooms after the rain. Don't cancel Kimcha D'Pischa, there are families who can use a few $K extra now, but everyone's the better for Covid economic relief, which sort of went overboard. Hashem should only help we keep the momentum into the back-to-normal.

The amcha is better off.
