Re: Frankfurt Master Thread I'm not sure if this belongs here or somewhere else, so if a mod wants to move this feel free, or if someone wants to make a Wiki with this info that could be done as well.

In short here is my TR from Frankfurt. (I do have pics if anyone wants I could add, I tried taking some "identifying" pics so it could be easy to explain where the locations are)

I arrived around 7 am, met some friends that landed about an hour later. We rented a van (as we were 7 people) with a GPS, and went to Worms. In Worms we davened in the Rashi Shul, checked out the Mikvah, dent in the wall, and the room where they say Rashi would learn/ talk to people. There is a chair built into the wall which they say is Rashi’s chair. We went to the Museum, not a whole lot of interesting things there but they gave us a map which helped us find the cemetery (info below)

We then went to Michelstadt, from Michelstadt we went back to Frankfurt. We went to the Old Old Cemetery, then to Zohar to eat and went back to the Airport. Below are all the addresses and or tips I have on finding these locations:

Hintere Judengasse 6 67547 Worms – is the address for the Jewish Museum in the Rashi House
If you google “synagogenplatz 67547 Worms” you’ll see the parking lot where we parked and the Shul is right there.

According to Google, this is the address for the cemetery: Willy-Brandt-Ring 21, 67547 Worms, Germany ‎ if you look on Google maps it puts the location pretty close if not exactly by the entrance. We parked illegally on the sidewalk, I am not sure where there is real parking close by.

Am Stadion 11, Michelstadt, Germany
GPS brought us there with no issue it’s on the left side of the street. There are street signs directing you there as well.

Old Old Cemetery:
Battonnstraße 32 Frankfurt, Germany
It will be on your right side. If you go to google maps and type this address in, if you click onto street view you will see the fence of the cemetery on the right side. I didn’t realize this and drove right by it..
(if you notice on the fence of the cemetery they have a small “brick” attached to the wall with a name, DOB, DOD & Location for each Jew from Frankfurt that was murdered during WW2) (1 very famous one there is Anne Frank)

Savignystrasse 66 Frankfurt am Main, Hessen 60325
It’s a large building, seems like it’s a Community Center. They have security there, and they asked us for ID before they let us into the building. The food was good, not great. They only wanted cash and may have overpriced the conversion as we only had US dollars. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Preferred language there was Yiddish or Hebrew.

Re: Private Island Paradise: Something Fishy's Anniversary Adventure
Minimum three nights, preferably four. I think longer than that and you'd get island fever.

My wife disagrees and says shes fine with moving here for a year ;D.

Are you picking her up on the 11th anniversary?   ;)

Re: Guns Master Thread
You're right. they should make it illegal to convert guns to full auto.
We should also ban drunk driving because it kills people.
Oh oops that is the law and still happens.

You don't live in Lakewood either big talker. And I didn't see you offering to host when I was in your neighborhood either so PUOSU.
He's also not offering to host in a city where has no where to host

Neither did I

Dunno about you, but when someone says this:

My place, tonight

In a specific city DO thread, most people would take it that you live in Lakewood and are hosting a DO

Re: Succos supplies affected?
Biggest kaoher distributor is Kayco.
Facts on the ground which I deal with everyday prove home wrong. Kayco themselves had a grape juice shortage before pesach and I have the emails to prove it.

Kayco does not and did not have a grape juice shortage

Re: Bird Feeders and Backyard Birding
Can you post a picture of your whole setup?

This is what I have. The stand is not cheap but works great at keeping the squirrels away.

As @Something Fishy said go to your local Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's and see what they have for feeders and food as they will probably be cheaper then amazon.

IIRC I bought the blue feeder in Walmart or Lowe's.

The Finch feeder (yellow) was much cheaper on Amazon when I purchased it, but there are many options available such as this, or you could opt to get a "sock" which would be similar to this

The red hummingbird feeder I bought at Lowe's when they had a clearance. Amazon does have options such as this & this.

This is the orange feeder which has a cup for grape jelly and posts for a slices Orange, @Something Fishy managed to loose the cup, and ordered replacements I am sure he would gladly show how he rigged it now so it shouldn't disappear again (I haven't have this issue)

The brown feeder I also purchased from Amazon, I like this one as if its a heavy bird or squirrel it will close so they can't get to the food.

In case you missed the app conversation this is a great app to help you identify the birds you are seeing. Also as @Something Fishy mentioned this book is great, and being that I live in NJ I like this book as well.

Regarding seeds for the feeder you could get seed in the above mentioned stores, try some and see how it goes, you could always get something more expensive like this if you want to "treat" the birds or test and see if it attracts other birds.

Keep in mind it could take a week or 2 until your yard get added to the "waze" of birds and you start noticing visitors.

Re: Bird Feeders and Backyard Birding

Can anyone identify either bird?

This guy was mostly a dark grey with some darker black areas. (His head reminds me of a chicken lol)

I believe this is an immature Common Grackle

Re: Bird Feeders and Backyard Critters
New species today: Northern Flicker!

Question for the pros. There are two woodpeckers that come to my feeder that I have identified as a downy woodpecker but they differ in size. One is about the size of a red bellied woodpecker and the other maybe half the size. Can they be the same species?

The larger one is most likely the Hairy Woodpecker

Re: Bird Feeders and Backyard Critters
Nice shots!

We also spotted it here but the tiny bird was darting between branches faster than my camera could focus on it...

This is sadly the only pic i could come up with... enough for a positive ID, but barely.

Species #49

Yes took me about 45 min to get those shots, that bird wouldn't stop for a second.
