Re: Best (jewish) place to buy (Major) Appliances
Town Appliance in Lakewood, best prices and great products, they even deliver for you.
Thank you!
They were recommended to me by many others as well.
I actually went by there yesterday and received great service and information.

I guess just checking if anyone has another place I can price out (as they told me they would price match).

Re: Car Insurance Master Thread Ok, after signing my first lease natuarally I needed insurance.
At the recommendation here at ddf I first tried the 2 agents in the wiki.
They each quoted me over $400 a month - being that I don't have any prior insurance, and wouldn't give me any tips on getting it for cheaper.
My wife and I (and anyone I told) thought this was insane, so we called a few companies ourselves.
While some of them were at those price ranges- we ended up getting GEICO for under $200- more than half less than the above quote.
After getting the quote from GEICO- one of the above agents told us that they know GEICO is better for ppl without prior insurance, but they are not agents for GEICO. I was very disappointed at the fact that they didn't offer me this info beforehand.

So PSA for ppl looking for first time insurance- don't go with agents!

Re: Car Insurance Master Thread
News break! Insurance brokerage is one of the sleaziest industries.
Many industries try to sell what a customer wants and needs and also turn a profit. Insurance on the other hand...
That's why I mentioned I went to 2 brokers that were highly recommended here in ddf- I expected better from them.
But after I got a quote from geico- she was nice enough to look at it and see if it was enough or if I should add anything...

Re: Violent protests erupt across the country
I will give a Jewish response. Should an auto shop refuse service to a Jew after he see's time and time again they violate SD rules and believes they have the virus. Is that anti-Semitism?
Depends if they were really afraid of getting the virus or was an excuse...

I would like to know if they joined these protests - where there is no SD...
Are they going to refuse service of anyone that did attend?

Re: Couples Stuck in USA - Rent on Israeli Apartments Ya just spoke with one that did as well.

Just curious why everyone is quick to publicize when the rabanim say you donít have to pay, but not when they say you have to?

Re: Dubai Master Thread We just finished 5 days here with 3 kids.
For food we were at the Wagner program.

Our itinerary is below:
Dubai mall

Motzei shabbos:
Water show at Dubai mall

LEGO land
Swimming in hotel

Mall of emirates - snow activities
Swimming in hotel
Global village at night

Habtoor grand - beach at marina (There were camels at the beach if anyone canít make it to desert like us:)
Dubai Yellow Boats (thanks @Dan) - 5pm sunset tour

Swimming at hotel
Miracle garden

We missed some spots I would have liked to just take a pic at cause you must, but thatís how it is with kids I guess. (If only I had another 3 days:)

Overall, it was a great trip even with the kids, we all enjoyed it and I would highly recommend all the above places.
And btw @Dan we just spotted a RR with an ď8Ē license plate

Re: Dubai Master Thread
If anyone has recently flown JFK-DXB or DXB-JFK, how are they regarding masks and open middle seats? And how crowded were the flights in general (esp. if you flew Motzei Shabbos to DXB, or came back on the non-stop redeye)?

Also, once in Dubai, how strict are they regarding masks and SD in public places, hotels, and tourist attractions - malls, souks, Burj, etc.?
There were open middle seats and plain was not crowded.
They were ok about the mask - never making us any problems with the kids, but did ask us to cover up when not eating.

In Dubai - in public places they do ask to wear masks (I heard they can fine for not wearing) but not overly aggressive about it. In hotel they did not bother us at all.
