Re: Site Suggestions I'm not trying to make ppl (i.e. Dan) do annoying work, but since he sometimes does the wonderfully comprehensive posts on collaborating a lot of info from diff airlines, CCs, etc, I would love if one day (esp in Jan) there would be a post with all annual spend bonuses, e.g. Jetblue Mosaic, SW companion, etc.

Re: Hyatt question
I'm Hyatt Platinum (from CC). What are the odds I could be granted a 4pm, or maybe even 3pm, checkout (instead of the usual 2pm)?

IME if they have it available they'll give it to you.

Lololol. The Yankees are going to haunt you for the next few years. This was a rebuilding year, remember.

No question Houston was a better team this year, but that Yankee team is dripping with talent, with more on the way, including Gleyber, Frazier, Adams, Harper and Machado.

Can I get you a tissue?

Re: Yidden in the news...for baseball!? FWIW, Jews in Baseball is a great movie with some great lines, including the classic apocryphal "Why couldn't you be Jewish" and "Moe Berg spoke 7 languages but couldn't hit in any of them"

Re: Comments That Leave Me Speechless...

and the reply

I'm a bit surprised nobody interpreted the $613 price drop as a siman min shamayim.

Re: NFL Master Thread
wonder if bb is on his way out and they're training in their next he.

I think there's little question that this move signifies that he's the next NE HC; the only question is how soon might that be? In light of the recent ESPN article, it's especially interesting.

Re: Stuff Your Kid Tells You Got a new SPG Biz with my wife's name as the business. So I told her from now on, only use the card that has her name on it twice (once for the user name and once for the business).

6 yo son: Why does it say Mommy's name twice?
Me: Because we love her
Wife: Like when it says Moshe Moshe.
6 yo son: That's what it said on Moshe's credit card?

Re: 2 dozen Roses and vase for $15.97 Ordered 100 holiday blooms for our shavuos hosts. Looked okay when they arrived, but the next day, they still hadn't opened. Later that second day, they snapped and fell over the side of the vase. The host threw them out before yontif was over when I could take a picture, but needless to say, I'm starting to understand why they were selling $40 GCs for $15...

Re: What Were Your Favorite DansDeals Of The Decade? I think "best" would be the Elal deal (2012?) and the Hawaii flight.
Ones that I got were the Toys r us glitch and the Amazon vs. Walmart battle (summer of 2017?)

Re: Is everyone really a racist? I am a professional and the short answer is yes. No, not everyone is necessarily a racist, but yes, humans are hard-wired to create in-groups and out-groups, and to favor those in their group. What many people are able to do is to realize this pattern, and put effort into including the "outsiders" into their group. The problem is that leads to the creation of other, albeit different groups. So for example, even the most pro-love and pro-peace groups still "exclude" those that disagree and turn them into the "outside" group.

The truth is whether or not one realizes it, these biases exist naturally (if not based on religion/race/gender, then also a result of childhood experiences, etc), and the best thing a person can do is to be aware of these biases.

Now my opinion no longer science: If the right would stop saying "We're not racist" and the left would stop saying "yes you are" and instead, both sides said "you are racist, but that's okay, and let's become aware of implicit biases," we may actually get somewhere as a society.

Re: Life Hacks, Post Your Favorites! If you have a room temperature bottle (and esp can) that you want to get cold fast, wrap a wet paper towel around it and put it in the freezer. It'll be ice cold pretty quickly.
