Re: Store Won't Take Returns From Lakewood, Brooklyn, Monsey, Monroe or Passaic
Unless the seller really knows what he is doing they will loose. In order to win you need to use a 3rd party company and thats expensive.

when did you make up this fact? I have won disputes as the seller with the correct documentation.

another note. when doing return protection the merchant does not lose out and you dont need a dispute. Consider doing that when a return policy isnt long enough for you.

Re: Pesach Programs and False Advertising
You get any compensation?
I paid half on a check. I told the guy that he should at least give me back half as I was only there two out of 8 days. he said lets talk after yom tov. (thinking he was honest and actually was trying to put out the dozen fires raging all over). in the end he didnt give me back a penny AND he sold my room to someone else. Yes I called the hotel and asked to be put through to my room, where I found a lovely couple that came and took the room. so he made even more money without refunding me. new rule for me, only cc or I wont go.

I found a place that was willing to take me and BH had an enjoyable rest of yom tov.

Re: Pesach Programs and False Advertising
Did you ask him how he can eat at a place without knowing more about the hechsher?

i want to see you walk up to him at of the blue, and (at least 25 years his junior) berate him for not looking into the hashgocha... its  easy to bash from behind a computer....
I don't know if it's a literal list. He mentioned offhand they're have to have a shabbos elevator, no kashering dishwashers, something about hachana issues. That's all I remember.

having been to multiple programs, I can say that hachana is a huge issue all programs struggle with. try to get food for 1000+ people ready in an hour. good luck

Re: Bingo Wholesale Club Lakewood
Is it worth the drive to bingo are they so much cheaper then other stores like npgs and gourmet Glatt?

Classic 14th St resident question. Do you realize that probably half of Lakewood lives closer to bingo then GG? And then there's the whole Tom's River!

Re: PSA: Don't swipe recklessly for others I never understood this. If a business is successful it should have its own credit cards. If there's an issue getting their own cards, then that's a bright red flag. I have a small business for 2 years and my charge card can hold at least 300k at once.

Re: PSA: Don't swipe recklessly for others
I am currently swiping for a company, in the 100-200k range.
Your article kind of hit home, thanks.
I want to either a) stop immediately or b) do my due diligence.

I am given a PO for each swipe. (meaning there is a buyer already for the merchandise before the company swipes my card by their supplier. Customers have to pay NET 30 and are all insured (in case of defaulting). So far no customers have defaulted.
What more can I do for due diligence?

You have to ask yourself, how come a company that does this amount doesn't have their own cards?

Re: Over The Top Purim Parties I was by 2 such parties in Lakewood on Purim. One allegedly spent upwards of 250k for one night. We are talking mbd, full bar, massive band a whole team of bouncers and the list goes on and on. The other was prob in the 100k range. These are young guys that have something to prove. They want to show they are in the big leauges. Remember rechnitz used to do this every year until he stopped.

Not sure why we need rabbonim to shut it down. Everyone should watch their own kids.

Re: Cancun, Mexico Master Thread Small TR.

Flew UA EWR-CUN for a 4 day trip. On the way out of the airport I got a green button but i still got stopped by the jew police. He went thru my stuff and asked me if i had goods from israel. I said no, he took away some fruit. he let me keep pastrami and milk.

hotel- we stayed at the Nizuc. It was a ten min drive from the airport so we were at the beach a half hour from landing! I cant say enough about this property. Its luxury at its finest. everything was super clean, and staff was amazing. We got a garden villa with a pool which had an outdoor area and outdoor shower. This is definitely the way to go. The property has multiple beaches and we found a quite empty spot every day. the adult pool was more crowded but the main pool had maybe 2-3 people each time we went. The one draw back was that its 20 min from the kosher food so each time we took a taxi it was 20 each way.

food- we ordered twice from garden cafe pizza and fries plus a pasta delivered to the hotel. While delivery was $25, it still was amazing to be eating right on the beach. the first night we went to ember grill. It was ok. We had a great experience at red heifer. fresh yummy food.

activities- we took a boat to isla mojeres. Honestly I dont see the whole draw to this place. everyone raves about the beaches but i found it crowded and noisy. the whole time i just wanted to go back to the nizuc beaches. a plus was chabad which served us a hot meal for 2 for $30. gotta love chabad.
we also did snorkaling with aquaworld, which was 15 min away from the hotel. concierge offered to book the trip for us but i saw they marked it up 30%. When we got to the snorkeling spot i saw it was prob 100 fee from the nizuc beach! we ended up convincing them to drop us off at the pier from the hotel which saved us from going all the way back to their port and then take a taxi. truth is nizuc offers free snorkeling so it ended up being a waste of money, tho it was nice.

Re: TSA Precheck
Not a huge help, but you can check in 24 hours before, and if you see you don't have it, you can call and have them add it. Still pretty annoying, but will save you from having to do it in the airport. Also, the phone agents I've dealt with seemed to be more informative.

good tip thanks. ill be checkin

Re: Cancun, Mexico Master Thread Short trip report
flew UA ewr-cun in J. I noticed that there were 3 flight attendants for biz and 1 for coach. They watched us like a hawk with the masks. The way back i sat in the back,. mostly empty plane and more comftable. We stayed at the NiZuc. We got a garden villa with pool. They also included a large fridge and freezer for 25/night. Definitely was worth it. We picked up fruit from the grocery store and also stored other items that we brought. The hotel is top notch, everything super clean and well taken care of. The pools, beaches are pristine with no garbage anywhere. High staff to guest ratio means theres someone always available to get you what you need. Service by the pools are excellent (but overpriced bar). Breakfast we made our own in a mini toaster oven we got on amazon. For dinner we ordered from chabad. The food was excellent, and it came to us within an hour of ordering ($25 delivery). One thing is you need to pick it up outside the gate. They do not allow the deliveries to come into the hotel. Dag Dag was closed the week we were there, and we didn't try ember. The hotel also offers tennis lessons with a nice court and trainer.
overall I would say this is a great property to stay if you don't mind not being on block of the food.

Re: Cancun, Mexico Master Thread
Again, why does a 5 star resort make life so difficult for guests?
Was wondering too.
They have in house food and They expect guest to spend and use it.
We were eating near the bar area in the lobby and they asked that we take back to our room. Seems like previous guest set up a feast and made a wreck.... Not saying they can't be a little more accommodating but seems like a few bad experiences.
I would still chalk this up as a top tier property. Everything super clean etc
