Re: MASTER THREAD: Using CC cards in Israel and maximizing benefits while traveling

and i think some of the older threads (like 4 years ago) with no recent conversations or posts should be deleted, and then it will also be cleaner.

My comment was just about the difference in the way you see these forums working and the way these forums work.

Re: Mezuzah Fraud
In "all for the boss" ruchama shain tells how her father one Shabbat saw the new talmud Torah teacher get an Aliyah and not look in Torah during kriah, he followed him out after to see him buy cigarettes and smoke on Shabbat

I don't hang up a mezuza because I follow the law blindly. I hang up a mezuza because God says so and I want to do God's commandment and be close to him..yes there are times where just kosher is good enough for me.

But how can you buy a mezuza etc which is supposed to be written by a yirei shamayim and the guy talks where shulchan aruch forbids.

Would you eat at a restaurant if the mashgiach goes to strip clubs (I know a few of these as does @ExGingi  I bet )
There was a Mashpia in Tomchei Temimim of old, his work in Yeshiva was his side job. Footing the day the was involved in business. During one particular Farbrengen he was directions his words to one particular student encouraging him to improve in a certain area.
After a short while, the Bochur couldn't handle it anymore and he called out "who are you to tell me where and what to improve! I myself saw you shaking hands with a woman!"
The Mashpia turns to him and tells him, "Listen here, in life, you'll meet a lot of people, each have מעלות and חסרונות, you can choose how to see things, either you can see all the good that people have which you can learn from and you'll end up in a good place, or you can see all the negative that people have which you can learn from and you'll end up in..."

Re: Crown Heights master thread
Is it Holesome or Wholesome?

One might argue that there is little that is more Crown Heights than a potato bagel
I've heard Israeli bochurim call it הומלעס בייגעלס

Re: Bingo Wholesale Club Lakewood

And that is exactly the problem. People see it in the store, assume it can't be that bad because Bingo is selling it and " someone IS buying it, or they wouldn't carry it"and therefore assume that they can also buy it.
So basically entrapping the ill informed to assume it's ok.
And here stands the main issue. With this and with the Mezuzos.

When did we stop teaching our children that YOU need to make sure the food is kosher before YOU eat it. YOU need to make sure your Mezuzos are kosher before YOU use them.
Since when do we rely on business people trying there hardest to earn a living and feed there families to dictate to us what is kosher and what isn't, what is on "our standard" and what isn't?

Re: Bingo Wholesale Club Lakewood
my friend, do u see whatís going on? Ur implying stores Bear no responsibility for what customers buy.  and Iím responding to u that in fact they do hold responsibility too . Obviously every case has to be weighed with all factors, but thatís not the point. To say that a store bears no responsibility as a blanket statement is just wrong.  And honestly it sounds like u are coming from feelings more than actual knowledge of the topic
Whatever happened to consumer responsibility and the age old fact that no one else will look out for you as much as you should look out for yourself?

Re: Orthodox College Life Guide?
I've many friends who were thrown out of there :) - The school is a great trivia question - what's the only chabad yeshiva not official Tomchei or Achei Tmimim :)
As well as OT, TE in Yerushalayim and I'm sure a few others.

Re: Uber
again, the driver can drop off wherever he wants
I'm UberX he can, and your charge will be readjusted. In UberPool Options if he will drop you wherever he wants it'll be at the expense of your co-passenger or the next rider.
