Re: Flights cancelled - strike posibble in the coming days/weeks at El Al
Yes
If this happens on their 001, I think they will be bleeding passengers and they know it. Their arrogant culture is coming back to roost.

Re: Uber Pool Flat Fares in NYC for $2.99, or Uber X for $5.99
Will flat fares cover rides of any price?

$2.99 uberPOOL and $5.99 uberX flat fare pricing covers almost every trip within the NYC area, up to a $30 value for uberPOOL or $30 value for uberX. If the total cost of your ride exceeds the maximum value stated, you'll be charged the flat fare price, plus any remaining amount above the maximum value.
Trips eligible within designated zone.
This zone excludes airports.
If you need to go to the airport, you can take an Uber to Long Term Parking and take the free AirTrain to your terminal.

shabbos?
+1
Unless you're staying at a hotel or eating out on Shabbos, most stores will be closed by the time you get to Jerusalem (assuming you're going to Jerusalem)

Feel free to Pm if there is anything I can do to help.

wrote to customer care and they responded:

"Please accept our apology for any inconvenience you experienced during the interruption of your travel plans.

As alternative options to your claim for compensation under Israeli Air Service Regulation, we would like to offer you a choice of a $1,000 (USD) United Travel Certificate* (redeemable and transferable toward the purchase of any United or United Express operated flight) or 30,000 United MileagePlus® miles (redeemable on flights operated by United, United Express or by Air Canada, ANA, Austrian, Lufthansa, SAS Scandinavian, Swiss, Thai and 20 additional Star Alliance partners worldwide.)

If you desire one of these options, please let us know your preference and we'll facilitate delivery via e-mail within 3-5 business days.  However, if you still wish to pursue cash compensation of ILS3080.00 under the Israeli Law, please provide your banking information for a wire transfer.  Processing of your payment may take up to 6 weeks."

Thoughts? Seems like they try to get you to choose the certificate by saying 6 weeks for the other.

I think the no-brainer is ILS3080.00

Re: Anyone on delayed UA 84 EWR-TLV today? (6/7) Definitely don't take the miles.
Only question is the $1K cert vs $845 cash.

Re: Anyone on delayed UA 84 EWR-TLV today? (6/7) Officially 12 months from date of issue.
Plus it works for 30 days after exp.
Can extend more with a refundable fare.
