Re: 2016 Election Pick Your Poison Master Thread
I did, but how can Trump outdo Romney? If he's at the same point now (where Romney was in 2012) and possibly even worse than Romney..

You can't compare Romeny to Trump.

Remember, you have to account for the fluke that sometimes, after you've been starving long enough, you open that refrigerator and for some dumb reason, you reach for the spoiled goulash instead of the safe vegetable lasagna. Only two minutes later do you realize the punishment you have inflicted upon yourself.

Re: BOGO Tuition Scam
http://www.thelakewoodscoop.com/news/2016/09/update-bogo-tuition-campaign-broke-terms-of-service-host-says-donations-cancelled.html
This is a good development, I am actually surprised that Youcaring.com allowed it in the first place, as the way it was worded seemed totally incongruent with the types of campaigns that site is made for.

I will clearly state here: I was wrong by initially implying that there was some merit, as I didn't initially carefully read the ad or wording on the website. As soon as I realized what was being attempted here I clearly differentiated between the "tuition match" campaign and the "loyalty program" and encouraged prudent approach.

My personal opinion is that with this fiasco he killed his loyalty program, which seems like a legitimate business which might or might have not worked, before even getting to try it. If it is to have any chance he will have to take some radical steps (such as renaming it, and removing himself from the business, and only collecting royalties if indeed it ever works out. My guess is that he wouldn't take those steps).

My personal lesson learned here is to take an extra step of caution when making public statements that could be construed in any way as an endorsement.

Re: 2016 Election Pick Your Poison Master Thread
One of us is experiencing cognitive dissonance. Here's why I think it's you.

He said "they let you do it." The imagery I get from that is that, as a famous person, he can be more forward and take more risks than other people because he's pretty sure he won't be rejected. I don't see any indication that, if he does get rejected by a woman, he would continue touching her against her will.

Even the women who've come forward say he touched them "without permission." Most socially normal people don't ask permission first. They look for signals. He interprets signals more often than regular people because he gets them more often than regular people.

I'm warning you to stop. Just stop. You don't have to defend sexual assault to explain why you support Trump. You can support Trump for any reason you want. Even just for the hell of it. I'm fine with that. But for the love of G-d, please do not force yourself to rationalize sexual assault. Walk away from this one.

"They let you do it" should send chills down the spine of anyone with a mother or a daughter or a sister or a wife. "They let you do it" is a sentiment completely lacking the slightest comprehension of the emotions of another human being. It doesn't matter if it's wealth, power, or fame, or a knife to your throat, "They let you do it" is not a defense against being labeled a total user but the very definition of it. Can you not see that? "They let you do it" is the defense of every child molester who grooms his victims rather than bashing them in the face and raping them. "They let you do it" is the defense of every frat boy who had sex with a drunk girl. "They let you do it" is the defense of every producer in Hollywood who uses aspiring actors for sex.

Sorry to be so blunt.

Re: Random questions.
Has the like-giving in general slowed down or just my personal like-garnering? If the latter, did I perhaps set the bar too high for myself before?

Re: Silent Killer the problem is not the drug addiction per se the problem that these kids are not doing anything in yeshiva and they are not feeling like they are doing anything with their life and thats why they turn to drugs everyone is making like it's a mental illness which we don't want to confront that is missing the boat with the underlying issue here

Re: Israel's good friend Obama... If you think that he is a Muslim you are probably paranoid, but if you think that his upbringing doesn't influence his worldview you are probably naive.

If you think that Wright made him hate America you are probably paranoid, but if you think that his sermons don't influence his politics you are probably naive.
