Re: The *OFFICIAL* UPS Thread Today's Lesson: When you think you are playing around but the other guy is clearly not amused, you better back off right away.

Re: How to meet spending thresholds
As you can probably tell members on this forum are bullies, trolls and selfish. I on the other hand have been called all three plus some. Which card are you trying to meet spend on and for how much?
I was going to say just this but I held myself back. I don't know if you're being serious but I'm going to continue your point.
Instead of jumping on an innocent question, people should just answer normally. This "bully the n00b" mentality is disgusting-either answer nicely or not at all. No need to rebuke, shame, or engage in any other negative behavior-he's asking a perfectly innocent question which to his mind isn't one being discussed here. It's not like there's a thread entitled "meeting AMEX thresholds" on the first page.

There is however a thread that says "Start Here!" and then in bold letters "Read through the threads in this board before attempting to post elsewhere."
I agree there is no need to be cruel, I do think its time to implement a welcome email.

Re: What's your predictions for 2018?

מיניה וביה אבא לשדיה ביה נרגא!

In English, the word English should always be capitalized.

I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that! Finally I can breath again!

Re: Pesach Programs and False Advertising
Well. You actually posted two ads, for two different programs, AND NEITHER OF THEM LISTS THE NAME OF THE HASHGOCHO! (except if Zika Free is the latest Badatz Mehadrin...).

The fact that such programs fill up without even feeling the need to put a reputable name that people can rely upon for the Kashrus on Pesach is simply amazing.
Why are you assuming no one inquires about thr hashgacha when they call for more info? There's also no pricing on the smillow ad, do you question how people can go to these programs withoit even knowing what its going to cost them?

Re: Pesach Programs and False Advertising

How do you advertise "better kashrus", that differentiates yourself from the others?
Also, I agree price is not a selling point at these high end programs but I can guarantee you that price is the most important aspect effecting the decision.
Who said it has to be better? ומי יתן כל עם ה’ נביאים! Let them all be highest standards! (Whether that is at all possible on Pesach is a different discussion. )

Re: Pesach Programs and False Advertising
That’s the way the sfardim hold, the ashkenazim forbid it.

https://www.star-k.org/articles/articles/seasonal/357/the-busiest-day-of-the-year-the-laws-of-erev-pesach/

“Matzoh made with fruit juice, including Kosher for Passover egg matzohs, grape matzohs, chocolate matzohs and Passover Tam Tams, etc. may be eaten until the end of the 4th halachic hour (same as the latest time for eating chometz). The sick or elderly who cannot eat regular matzoh and have consulted with their rav may eat Pesach egg matzohs any time on Erev Pesach and Pesach. However, even such an individual can not fulfill the obligation of eating matzoh at the seder with these matzohs.”
Good grief.
That picture was from breakfast on erev pesach. Source: We were there.

You really do need to take a DL"Z lesson. You owe many ehrliche yidden an apology.
Sad!

Re: Pesach Programs and False Advertising Breakfast in PDT is a few hours before the Seder in EDT. Is this the first time you've encountered sloppy "journalism"?

No story here at all other than a failure to be DL"Z. The end.

Re: Pesach Programs and False Advertising
i am saying that for many people it may be part of a list of 15-20 questions about the details and pros and cons of a particular program, however is this one of your Top-2 questions?

Really?

Priority Level 1
Kosher Food
Kosher Environment.

Priority Level 2
Price
Location
Food
Entertainment
All the other stuff

When I say it like that, you think my priorities are off-base?
