At what point does this become a felony, and at what point should the feds be involved?
If Baruch atually hits Exgingi, or threatens bodily harm.

Re: Best Sukkah?
Cool concept but seems there's too many pieces and parts that can easily get lost/ break. The main issue though is (besides tedious) if it doesn't lie perfectly flat it's not going to work...
Not to mention the pain in the neck it probably is to move to/from storage, with that many pieces.
Or the pain of lifting each individual piece up 8 ft and lowering it down the rails...
I dont know what you guys are talking about. I just watched the video on the website and it clearly builds itself. Now thats sensible!

I don't think he has but why does every post I make have to involve my husband?? I hardly ever see any random post and a reply be 'well what did your wife say to that'. Or 'bet your wife wouldn't mind' or 'did your wife get mad' 'is your wife on ddf'?? Seriously!

You don't see how that is condescending?

Let me translate, for you: Other people don't know what's good and right, I really do, so I'm going to make sure that everyone follows what I believe to be right, whether they like it or not. And those "minorities and gays", oh they are different, they need special help.

BTW, if you think about it, ARROGANCE = כפירה.
So shluchim are arrogant and condescending, just getting my facts straight.

Re: 2016 Election Pick Your Poison Master Thread
One of us is experiencing cognitive dissonance. Here's why I think it's you.

He said "they let you do it." The imagery I get from that is that, as a famous person, he can be more forward and take more risks than other people because he's pretty sure he won't be rejected. I don't see any indication that, if he does get rejected by a woman, he would continue touching her against her will.

Even the women who've come forward say he touched them "without permission." Most socially normal people don't ask permission first. They look for signals. He interprets signals more often than regular people because he gets them more often than regular people.

I'm warning you to stop. Just stop. You don't have to defend sexual assault to explain why you support Trump. You can support Trump for any reason you want. Even just for the hell of it. I'm fine with that. But for the love of G-d, please do not force yourself to rationalize sexual assault. Walk away from this one.

"They let you do it" should send chills down the spine of anyone with a mother or a daughter or a sister or a wife. "They let you do it" is a sentiment completely lacking the slightest comprehension of the emotions of another human being. It doesn't matter if it's wealth, power, or fame, or a knife to your throat, "They let you do it" is not a defense against being labeled a total user but the very definition of it. Can you not see that? "They let you do it" is the defense of every child molester who grooms his victims rather than bashing them in the face and raping them. "They let you do it" is the defense of every frat boy who had sex with a drunk girl. "They let you do it" is the defense of every producer in Hollywood who uses aspiring actors for sex.

Sorry to be so blunt.

Re: Life Hacks, Post Your Favorites! When you first open a bottle of soda or seltzer or pop, begin by slowly turning the cap one-quarter turn and wait about 10 seconds, watching for the small bubbles to slow down, and listening as the sssst of escaping gas gets quieter.  Then turn another 1/4 turn, and wait another 10 seconds till it quiets down.  Now open the cap the rest of the way, and look proudly around as you pour a perfect cup.  Don't expect a pat on the back, though, because nobody will realize what didn't happen.  But you'll know.

Because one day, soon we hope, you'll be at a shul kiddush, balancing a full bowl of aromatic chulent or chili or Hungarian goulash in one hand, and an empty cup in the other, and someone will offer to pour you a drink, and he'll twist that cap quickly, in one fell swoop, and you'll watch as the bottle suddenly erupts, and fizzy, bubbly liquid streams downward, over his greasy hands into your still-untouched chulent or chili or Hungarian goulash, filling the bowl with what now looks like brown soup, which overflows the rim and drips downwards onto your Shabbos shoes, and you'll look up as he sheepishly mumbles "Sorry!  Someone must have shaken the bottle" and you'll think NO, YOU DOOFUS!!!  DON'T BLAME SOMEONE ELSE!  ADMIT THAT YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO OPEN A BOTTLE OF SODA! but you won't say that, of course, you'll just smile kindly and say "It's nothing, I'll get another bowl" and you'll return to the table, only to discover that the pan has now been totally emptied of its chulent or chili or Hungarian goulash, and you'll just sigh.  How could he know?  He's not a DDFer.

Re: Do you know someone who has had Coronavirus after Pesach?
For the benefit of @Lurker I will post the dictionary meaning.

Do you really think you will change people's behaviors with DDF posts (or any other way within your means)?

Or as they say in Israel: בכביש אל תהיה צודק, תהיה חכם!

I post on here because I owe DDF a great debt. I did not take Covid seriously until a little before Purim. The information posted here was invaluable in educating me in what was (and is) going on, and how to keep my family safe without locking myself in a room and losing my mind. In turn, that information was shared with my family, friends, and community, and from there it was passed on to their contacts, and on and on. Does everyone take me seriously? Hell no! I get laughed at more often than not. But to some people, the posts of DDFers like @yuneeq @S209 @Yard sale @aygart @Dan @CountValentine @Afrages6 @biobook and many, many more have had a huge impact on the lives of countless people they will never meet. It's ironic that it's you who thinks they don't make a difference. I can't count how many Twitter threads and articles YOU posted that were influential in guiding the decisions that I have personally made. I can't speak for others, but I doubt I'm the only one.

I used to be a cynic. I lived my life wanting to die. What is life when nothing matters? Then I grew up. Cynicism isn't what happens to frustration when you get older; it's what happens when you stop trying to address your frustrations.

There have been a number of comments recently about the changes Covid has brought about to people's personalities. Your posts make me question how Covid has affected you. You are DDF's ultimate Lubavitcher. Your profile picture is 770. The most painful part of the restrictions for you was your inability to daven in 770. The way you talk about your family, your interactions with others, farbrengens, hashkafos, life; everything about you screams I AM A CHOSSID OF THE LUBAVITCHER REBBE!! How can you sit here and tell me that one person can't change anything in the world? That nothing I say on here or do in my life offline can change people's behaviors? Who are you?! You're going to blame old age for cynicism? Throw in the towel, become a fatalist? This is really what you think of life now? This is a Lubavitcher??? And they wonder why people are shocked at the transformations they're seeing in attitudes and behaviors of their peers and acquaintances, family and friends, people they love and respect.

BREAKING: Chicago Jew maintains non-Jewish slaves to man his bathroom

An allegedly Jewish Chicago man has admitted to utilizing slave labor to turn his sinks on on the Jewish holy day of Shabbos. The man, identified only by his handle of "CountValentine," has specified that he seeks out "goys," or non-Jews, for this labor.

"I have a goy waive (sic) his hand over it," the Chicago native wrote on a popular deals forum site, in response to a question of how to activate an electric water faucet on Shabbos.

Jews are forbidden to activate electric devices on their holy day, which begins Friday at sundown and culminates Saturday night.

"Who would've believed that in the 21st century, such behavior can take place," flaming community activist [insert name] spewed. "And the Jews want to know why there is Antisemitism in America?"

Staff of [media outlet] were not able to confirm the Jewish ethnicity of the perpetrator, but his frequenting of the predominantly Jewish deals forum site "Dan's Deals Forums" points to that conclusion.

BREAKING: "DansDeals" to be Renamed "DefundAirlines" After Founder Accused of Age Bias

Popular deals website DansDeals will be changing it name after a whistleblower revealed that the founder, who is also the site's namesake, engaged in age bias when he retaliated against his younger brother for a decades-old incident.

The claim, first reported as an anonymous comment on the website, alleged that Daniel Eleff, 35, engaged in age bias targeting his younger brother JJ, 29, when he cut the latter's pay while hiding behind an incident in which his younger brother allegedly confiscated his's Lego toys in the early 1990s.

The initial comment on the site alleged that an employee had his pay cut under the guise of COVID19, with a follow up comment claiming that the employee in question was JJ, and it was "Dan getting back at JJ for taking his lego when they were young."

US law allows younger brothers to confiscate toys, games, and books from an older sibling, and protects the younger sibling from any punitive retaliation. The law, introduced by Congresswoman AOC and signed by President Joe Biden, asserts that it is age discrimination to allow an older sibling unfair advantage over younger siblings, and thereby grants all play privileges to the younger sibling.

"This is a troubling charge," Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost wrote in a statement. "Our office is taking this very seriously and we are following all leads.

Some reports indicate that Daniel Eleff may also be charged with cyber bullying, as he has called his younger brother "my kid brother" in an online post, a term banned by the Anti-Bullying Commission of America.

Site administrators have not yet revealed the status of Eleff's future in the company, but they have been quick to pull his name from the site.

"Going forward, it would only seem sensible to call the site 'DefundAirlines,' which carries the positive connotation of taking the money away from powerful capitalist airlines," administrator @Something Fishy wrote in a statement.

Eleff has yet to comment on the allegations, and it is unclear at this time if has retained a lawyer.

Airline Execs Hold Emergency Meeting as Key Airline Blogger Turns to RVs

By Yitzy S.

Executives from at least five airlines participated in a hastily-organized meeting aimed at saving the bleeding industry as a leading airline blogging celebrity shares details of his RV-central vacation.

"Follow Me On An RV Trip Out West!" travel and deal blogger Daniel Eleff, who founded Dans Deals in 2008, wrote in the headline of a post on his site.

"4 DDF (DansDeals Forums) members have been driving an RV from NYC to San Francisco this week on a Photo [meeting] organized by [a member]," Eleff wrote in the post. Eleff's post created a stir in the travel world, and a thread was created on his forum site,, discussing the trip. The growing interest in RV travel, fueled by the open embracing of such trips by travel celebrities like Eleff, have driven airline bigwigs into a frenzy.

"Such rhetoric can be the death knell of a volatile industry," United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby reportedly said at the meeting, which took place via Zoom video conference. "We can pay for huge billboards with images of glistening airplanes, but all that will be meaningless when vacationers see pictures of the beauty of the Grand Canyon through the window of a motor home."

"Making the notion of RV vacations viable will only bring trouble to the airline industry," Kirby's counterpart at American Airlines, Doug Parker, allegedly added. "This, coming from Dan Eleff, is a most formidable threat."

Eleff's site has been ranked as the number 1 travel blog site by USA Today, and he has more than 88,000 followers on Twitter. The site's Facebook page has nearly 40,000 members as well.

Delta Airlines COE Ed Bastian, who seemingly also took part in the meeting, indicated that the group would seek sanctions against the blogging site.

"We all know that Congress is in our pockets," a voice sounding like Bastian's says, in an audio clip leaked to us. "How hard would it be to just shut the [expletive] down?!" the voice said, with notable aggression.

Spokespeople for the airlines we contacted refused to comment, and we are still waiting for a response from Dans Deals.

Re: News Parodies (for Purim and year-round)
Forum Members Stage Coup as Site Founder Vacations

A group of forum members on a popular internet deals website have exploited the vacation of the site’s founder to stage a coup and take control of the website.

Daniel Eleff, the founder of travel and deals website, was vacationing when longtime members of the site’s built-in forum took the reins and blocked the founder from accessing his site.

“Now that Dan is RVing and has really spotty internet service, is a great time to assert our rights,” one DDFer, as the forum members are called, wrote in a hidden thread on the site. “Dan’s hiatus proves more than ever that it is really his brother JJ who is carrying this site. It is clearly evident that Dan is just a celebrity silent partner and it’s JJ who really does all the work around here.”

A moderator was commissioned to bait the founder away from the site by presenting a unique vacation opportunity. Once away, forum members, with the help of site administrators, wiped Dan’s name off the site, and replaced it with a banner reading “JJ Deals”. Traffic to the site is now automatically rerouted to a new web address,, and certain key loyalist accounts have been suspended. Sources allege that JJ, who is six years younger than Dan, has been secretly harvesting the rebellion for years.

While there have been various factions among forum members as to how to approach the change of leadership, moderators have been working overtime to bring over as many users as they can. Prominent users that have been offline have been coaxed back, in order to be able to give an air of validity to the new leader of the site. One such members, who goes by the username TimT, was even positively credited by JJ after having previously been accused of being a ‘Lying, Cheating, Scumbag, Good For Nothing, THIEF.'

It is still unclear if site founder Daniel Eleff is aware about the coup, or if he plans to take legal or military action to reclaim his site. Sources note that he has extensive battle experience though his use of Catan, and has a legal mind honed by his mentor Bill Watterson.

Re: Which Songs Would You Like To See on "Off The Record 2"
How long does it take to send a 5 word email?

Our web team just received this email from @yungermanchik about the song choices for a potential second album, do you guys at marketing want to take a swing at a response?

From: Tom
CC: Andrew; Mike; Joe; Cynthia; Fred: Patty; Sid; Gina; Michael; Michelle;Amy

Thank you for forwarding me that email. We definitely want to send a timely response that reflects our appreciation for listening to the first album and contributing to the next one.

I'm just looping in Amy from legal to hear her perspective on what we should or shouldn't commit to our comment on, as well as a few team leaders who would like to be kept abreast of these opportunities.

Sent from my iPhone which is definitely a newer model than yours

From: Mike

Why am I on this thread?

From: Tom

Sorry, wrong Mike. Looping in Mike from accounts receivable

From: Amy

Sure Tom,

Have marketing draw up a draft and we'll have our team look at it after the weekend, We're running a bit thin coming off the holiday last month.

From: Michelle

It is imperative we respond ASAP!

From: Amy

Thank you Michelle, we just want to ensure there are no oversights like the project Next fiasco.

From Tom

Our team has come up with the following:

Hi Yungermanchik,

Thanks for sharing this link with us. We are so happy you guys enjoyed Off The Record and hopefully we'll use some of your suggestions on the next Off The Record!

Happy listening!

From: Fred

It's perfect

From: Joe

I need 30 of those by Monday

From: Joe

Sorry, wrong thread

From: Cynthia

Do we perhaps want to offer a coupon for future purchases?

From: Patty

All promotions need to be board approved. I can surface this request at the next Quarterly.

From: Cynthia

I think it's best to table that idea, we need to send this response much sooner.

From: Amy

Nicely done, Tom!

A couple of things:

We can't assume - or appear to have assumed - gender. "Guys" must go.
Please don't commit to there being a second release, let alone one called by the same name.

From: Gina

I'm not sure the response needs to be so lengthy. I'm about to hop onto a cross departmental conference call, perhaps we can brainstorm a few solutions

From: Mike

I am currently out of the office from Tuesday, 1/16 at midday to Tuesday 1/16 at 3:52 pm.

Any urgent messages can be dealt with with by Travis.

I don't think we need two exclamation points that close together. Perhaps once Gina's team returns with their offerings, we can circle back to rewording it to be shorter and more impactful.

From: Shawn

Has anyone seen the email from yungermanchik, we should consider sending a timely response that reflects our appreciation for listening to the first album and contributing to the next one.

From: Amy

We're on it

Re: Andaz mayakoba refuses free test on points stay "Hyatt is Spreading the Coronavirus," Hotel Guest Asserts after Policy Reversal

The Hyatt hotel chain has come under fire for its alleged role in spreading a pandemic, DansDeals Magazine has learned. The accusation came after a Mexico-based hotel refused to supply a free Covid test to a guest, in direct contradiction to the chain's stated policy.

"[The] reservation manager claims the free test is only for paid stays," a guest at the Andaz Mayakoba, a Hotel that is part of the Hyatt Brand of hotels, claimed on a prominent online forum. The guest, who was identified only by a username of 'mdv', added that the hotel sent a PDF that supposedly backed up their refusal to supply a test, but the guest pointed out that the hotel website made no distinction between paid or reward stays.

The assertion was first posted on Dans Deals Forums, a prestigious travel and points forum that compliments, a deals site that has earned the top spot in a USA Today survey. The site's administrator, Cleveland-based points heavyweight Daniel Eleff, immediately offered to use his connections to clear up the confusion.

"I'll reach out to my Hyatt contact and see what they say," Eleff posted on the forum.

The situation was later resolved after the hotel conceded and agreed to supply a test. Poster mdv reported the change of policy about two-and-a-half hours after his initial post noting the refusal.

It has been reported that Hyatt secretly threated adverse actions against Eleff if he would publicize the story, with their main ammunition being their ability to portray Eleff as a super-spreader, given his side job of singing at predominantly Jewish weddings. Eleff, however, has been documented as having eleffated antibody levels, thus effectively mitigating the risk of virus spread. DansDeals Magazine has not been able to independently confirm claims of any threats, however.

Re: Posts that didn't get their deserved number of likes I finally figured out what happened to ddf

JJ asked for everyone to like @Something Fishy's post.
Embarrassing this doesn't have 100 likes...

Then, @YitzyS  explain the hesitation to do so
Many DDFers are hesitant to like posts because they are afraid their likes may cause it to top your 10,000th post, and that would put DDF in disarray...

Only to have @yesitsme ignore the warning
your honor

Then, as predicted by @YitzyS the forums went haywire
Does anyone have an idea to help @yesitsme? He seems to be stuck in a time loop in 2017 and is trying to send us signals.
Okay, guys, any recommendations? Should we call Dr. Middos, Doc Brown, or HG Wells? We need to get yesitsme back without him running out of gas or getting lost in time. Anyone have experience with time travel?

So, I looked for a solution to fix the problem, and a solution does exist :)
So it looks like there's a recount feature, which will recalculate and correctly allocate likes; and any duplicate likes/unlikes will be consolidated into 1 like/unlike.

It doesn't work :(
Recount feature used to work, but now it just crashes DDF and I need to restart the AWS instance to fix it. Haven't tried that in a while now.

Are we going to be stuck like this forever?? >:(
