Re: Have Recent Events Made You Consider Moving Or Making Aliya?
As far as off the derech, im not sure which is better. But itís definitely an issue in Israel, in some communities more than others
Im speaking of my own experience and some of my friends, i think that in Israel is easier to go OTD, as Rabbi Rottenberg told me before i went to yeshiva there that the greater the kedusha the greater the temuah and koach hatumah is always 1 step ahead.

Re: The Post-Trump World
You are all living in la la land. You all will be bringing him up every chance you get.  ::)
LOL. As if you arenít the one to bring him up 9/10 times he is mentioned on the forums. Since 2015 (!)

Re: Whatís the Democrat partyís plan with Biden
The left has been woken up & will go vote en masse
Yep, whether or not they are citizens, whether or not they're still alive. And as they say in Chicago, "early & often."

Re: Kazakhstan Pneumonia
Not to fearmonger, but any chance this is a mutation?

It's Kazakhstan. You'll know before they do.

Re: How Will You Vote In November?
HRC was the biggest non-incumbent front-runner for the White House in modern political history, but she lost the election because... you guessed it... from deplorables to the email server to just being pretty unlikable, she was the worst presidential candidate in modern political history. Following eight years of BO, the country could have easily continued on a similar path with HRC, but they chose a TV actor instead -- in real life.

By no means is DJT perfect (a fact pretty much everyone can agree on), but as far as America is concerned (who knew that fact going in), the lesser of two evils was pretty clear in 2016. Proof is in the pudding.

And as for Trump stoking the division, well, I'd argue that's blinding yourself -- deliberately or otherwise -- to the unavoidable truth that it takes two to tango. Trump upset the hoity-toity political establishment and the left has never forgiven him for that, and never will.  They have sowed the seeds of division and disunity for just as long, if not longer, than DJT. It's quite the routine of mental gymnastics to place that all at Trump's feet. Sorry not sorry.
The exposure of the "Deep State" was one of the biggest eye openers for me. This is literally something I would expect from a netflix show, its scary playing out in real life. Honestly, I believe any other person in DJT's shoes would've folded. It amazes me that the administration is able to get anything done, while knowing that (almost) everyone on capital hill is out to stab him in the back.

Re: Taharas Hamishpacha Article Discussion For The Married Folk...
Depending on the age, circumstances a Rav may highly discourage this. Thereís a difference between a middle aged couple and newlyweds or even married longer who havenít been mekayeim pru urevu. Even older couples are likely asking for trouble at the very least with hirhurim assurim especially with a beach destination etc. and she has been assur to him for the better part of a month.

The bottom line is, don't use DDF for Halachic guidance on this. Go to your LOR who is well versed in the 5th part of Shulchan Oruch (in addition to the other pertinent part).

Re: Yiddish translation please!
(He then proceeded to take a swig of what was ostensibly whiskey but looked suspiciously like water from my vantage point)
Despite what I wrote and quoted above, it seems like Sheina is with two yuds:

Unless it's just a bad image, and there's only one yud there, just like שינדיל has one yud.
A few lines down it's spelled with 1 yud

Re: Correct spelling of Yiddish/Jewish names
Interesting. Didn't know that רייכל was different than רחל. Also they're spelling it (incorrectly?) with two yuds.
רעכיל is absolutely separate from רחל.
Dunno about the hebraized spelling

Re: New Chassidish Community Being Planned in Tampa

I will update iyh.

I really wonder if this will work out this time...

Hope it will. High time we got ourselves out of the tri state area.

Re: Correct spelling of Yiddish/Jewish names
IIRC, the name "Leib" in the sefer "Chiddushei Rav Aryeh Leib Malin" is spelled one way on the cover and another way inside the sefer...

So now we're going to bring arguments from the בחור הזעצער?  ::)
