Re: What Do You Do For Kosher Food While Traveling?
How do you book them? off second hand sites?

My mom owns a timeshare so I'm able to book very cheap weeks off of IntervalWorld (the exchange company) but you can book them direct from Marriott and Hilton, etc.  I have also booked weeks directly from owners on  That site might be your best bet during high demand, holiday weeks.  It's very helpful that Yeshiva week and often Hannukah (not this year) are in the "off" season" because Timeshares are usually totally full around New Years and Spring Break.

The cool thing is too that all nights are credited toward your status nights.  So if you are able to get a cheap week deal and even if you only stay part of the week, just don't check out early and they'll give you all seven nights toward status.  You can also use points just like normal hotels, at these places, although they are usually exempt from free breakfast and upgrades from status.  Also when you book on points (or paid) they sometimes clean your room daily, like a normal hotel, unlike when staying through a timeshare booking.  I've stayed primarily at Marriott (and former Westin) timeshares and they are very high quality.

Lots of people love the Westin Kierland Villas in Scottsdale and Westin Lagunamar in Cancun (that's in my Panama TR  I also highly recommend the Marriott Canyon Villas in Phoenix (can use your 35k Marriott free night cert there), Marriott Newport Coast Villas (actually did a Trip Report there:, have probably been ten times there AND all units are 2 brms (I checked and certain dates over Yeshiva week, after MLK, can book 5 nights on Pointsavers, from 200k-220k, that's insane to get that unit for 40k a night), Marriott Harbour Villas in Orlando (also can get a 1brm villa for a 35k cert and a 2brm villa is often only 40k, in spite of all the fancy places we've stayed, this is my kids favorite place in the world so we are meeting cousins there for Yeshiva week), Westin Riverfront Villas and Lakeside Terrace near Vail (@yehuda has a great trip report there) and Marriott Beach Place Towers in Ft. Lauderdale.

Here is a list from the Vacation Club website:

Happy Hunting and enjoy your huge kitchens and no resort fees in these places!  :P

Remember if you could do it, someone who cooled tief can do it.

Which is why I always kasher the iron first by pouring boiling water on it while rolling a countertop over it.

Re: May Rush Limbaugh have a speedy recovery
Two completely different things.

Bryant is an (immoral) individual who doesn't deserve special praise due to his athletic capabilities. Nothing in the Torah makes an athlete better than anyone else in the world, despite the "inspiration". Kal vachomer if he is immoral.

Regarding Rush, I am sure we can all agree that he has argued for many Conservative ideals that are in concert with Torah values for decades to millions. These include being highly critical of abortion, supporting capital punishment, being critical of feminism, and more. The icing on the cake is how he irks liberals. How can we not differentiate between the two? And - ask your Daas Torah - but I wouldn't be surprised if many would agree that we should have him in mind in our tefilos.
You're conflating your political views with Torah values, they're not the same thing. Besides for the fact that American conservative ideas are based on Christianity, not Judaism, think about that for a little while.

ETA: How the hell does irking liberals have anything to do with a Torah hashgafa? Just admit it, you like the guys' political views so you think he deserves your prayer for a speedy recovery. Stop trying to bring my Torah into your petty political battle.

ETA 2: Oh and btw, stop trying to speak on behalf of all frum jews, the rest of us appreciate it about as much as the rest of the "social" groups that get spoken on behalf of do.

And guys who love Rush, Ben, and all the others just haven't figured out they're fans of WWE.

Itís amazing how talented they are that they can inflame the masses, and the gullible folk buys it hook line and sinker
Yup, hey it's enjoyable. Everyone needs an outlet for fun. Some just like to think they are fixing the world while doing it.

Along the lines of my wife makes the small decisions like where the kids go to school, what car we buy, where we live, and I make the important decisions like who should be president, whether we go to war etc.

Re: Jewish Music (New CDs, hock, and opinions)

Nice but what's Jewish about it?

Why do we have to go through the "what is Jewish music" every darn song that is released.
It's written by a frum Jew.
The lyrics are by a frum Jew.
The performer is a frum Jew.
The lyrics are about his love for his kids. For all the cheesiness, that doesn't make it goyish.
So what's not Jewish about it? That it doesn't repeat the same 4 words or of Tehillim over and over?

I get why you wouldn't like the song, but why the need for this jab?

CNN: How Fox News misled viewers about the coronavirus

It's not everyday that CNN gets it right, but it's hard to argue with this one.

It's been very frustrating dealing with people who have their heads in the ground because of Fox/Trump's downplaying of COVID19...
