Re: Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem
Just came across this: https://www.kosharot.co.il/index2.php?id=281&lang=HEB#B

So it satisfies you to have someone claim that they are a-political and know what they are saying, you now have a list of sorts.

I find it interesting that browsing through the website I couldn't find any names of Rabbonim that are responsible for this site.
I also find it funny that they ahve certain ones on their list while leaving out other ones.

That's to be expected. However I finally found a link on their website to an article that indicates who they are: https://www.inn.co.il/Besheva/Article.aspx/7594

Re: Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem
The reality is that for better or worse it will not be the source to find out about charedi kashrus standards.

What are "Charedi Kashrus Standards"?

Are all the people that accept the standards of the WAJ despite the evidence and indications that it might not be up to par with what they presumably or are publicly willing to admit that they accept defined as "Charedi"?

THose who accept rabbanut accept rabbanut. Those who are busy with trusting the mashgiach are convincing themselves or following the advice of those who believe that this is ensuring that the ingredients are all meeting "chareidi standards". This is whether or not they personally identify as chareidi.

Re: Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem
Thanks for all the responses about places to eat.
How far is the Prima Palace from WAJ? Are there any standalone restaurants that have shabb meals in the area?

Google maps puts it at a 20 minute walk.

Re: Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem
Anyone know where you can light shabbos candles when staying at WAJ but not eating in the restaurant?
Any clue if you're allowed to use a crockpot in your room?
Allowed?
Don't ask and don't tell. Keep the DND on.

Like every other hotel. Maybe lightning candles is prohibited, officially, but slow cooking, never saw a rule prohibiting.
