Deals/Deal Requests / Re: Where can I get it? (Israel edition)

My wife is having the hardest time finding navy blue women's low socks in Jerusalem.  Has anyone seen them in a specific store, especially in the center of the city or Ramot.

It is not easy to expect those qualities in a 15 year old, especially  thousands of miles away.  You really need to know your child.  Many Americans come from Jewish Day Schools.  Believe me, Israeli schools are nothing like that and if that is someone's expectations they are in for a sad awakening .
Also no matter how good your school tells you their Hebrew program is, I have yet to see an American with Hebrew at any level close to being able to learn in an Israeli school.  Sad but true.  Just trying to let people enter with their eyes wide open.  I think it can be an amazing program for the right students.

I have a daughter who graduated from the dati leumi school about 9 years ago. Only 3 or 4 graduated out of 20 for various reasons.  Those four all stayed in Israel and are very integrated into society.  Im not sure there is as much an overall emphasis on aliyah from the American program today.  Self motivation, ability to make good choices and self control is crucial.  In the right school for the right boy or girl, this program can be amazing.  There have been many changes in the dati leumi schools and programs in particular over the years.  Not sure about the current programs.
Best thing ever for my daughter.  She was flown home for free at end of high school, and our entire family flew back to Eretz Yisrael the following week making aliyah together.  That was almost nine  years ago.  She completed her sherut leumi, university at hebrew u. and medrasha all in Israel, all in Hebrew.  She is currently an e.r nurse and senior paramedic for  MAda and doing incredibly well.  Feel free to pm me with questions or concerns, especially for girls.

Looking for a quick inexpensive 4to 7 day trip out of tel aviv the week of August 19th.  I know this tends to be an expensive time.  Willing to go anywhere.  Saw malta was fairly cheap as of last week but skyrocketed 200 to 300 percent in a weeks time.  Checking out google flights but does anyone have a suggestion on a place maybe not listed?

If we go for a week is the unlimited bus pass worthwhile.  We tend to walk or take buses, never taxis.

We have been to Zurich and Geneva.  Are there any other cities in Switzerland that you can fly directly to from Israel?

Best move if you want to go to Anne Frank House is to book the tour which is only  5 euro more on website.  Scroll to bottom even if it says it is sold out for that day, there are tickets available for the tour.  Walk right in at allotted time, no wait.  Interesting 30 minute talk and then you go right into museum.
Used ihg annual free night for amstel, incredible stay, received upgrade.

Is the crowne plaza in Jerusalem and Eilat still going through renovations?  Do you know when they will be done?
