Politics / Re: Civil War?

While I vehemently disagree with the actions of these protestors, I am 100% sure than none of these folks think that they're destroying the country. They believe that they're the last thing standing between liberty as we know it and the country going into the abyss

On point, this isn't a fringe theroy.

You have to understand that many people believe there was a widespread conspiracy to oust trump.

There are very sound mind level headed intelligent people who believe the election was rigged.

It doesn't seem to matter because that nobody is actually listening to the rules or going into the hotels I've read hundreds of stories of just really nothing being actually enforced.

Hyatt messed up communication, I thought I needed 500 points when I actually need 5 nights after 3 booked.

So I'm on track for 55 nights.

I could get chase to close the card the 28th? That's 57 and some mattress runs.

My real question is should I actually bother obviously I want to free one to seven category night and the suite upgrades and the concierge.

Mostly I was hoping that aa with give globalist platinum like lady year.

Because it's hard to separate facts from feelings.

In my family, every time someone doesn't feel well, everyone gets tested, it's an enourmes schlep and pain in the butt.

And bh most of us tested negative. It's also the virus makes no sense, many people I know, a husband or wife got it, the others didn't.

But the idea that everyone had it, is patently false, as much as we will ourselves to believe that the worst is over.

It's like surviving the earthquake and ignoring the tzunami.

What level of exposure guaranteed immunity?
What will happen with real exposure and subsequent reinfect?

What about people who thought they had it but didn't ?

Just stuff... And I realize we all want to get back to normal life.

I don't have the answers, but it's good to be cautious in general.

I'm reminded of the sign in the coffee shop bathroom "employees must wash hands..." Then under it "you too, don't be gross"

If everyone washes their hands with soap, covers their coughs and sneezes, ensures they get enough fresh air, exercise, healthy eating, vitamins and nutrients, that would be great.

The issue with living in this era is a twofold problem of chronic obesity and political correctness.. you can't body shame oriole but I mean there's clear scientific co-relation between obesity and covid deaths..

In addition, and this may be hard to understand for non chassidim, this event is one of their only outlets of entertainment. (Even without Covid) most chasidim don't attend sporting events or movies. So these weddings something they really look forward to and are willing to make an exception for their rebbe.

I'm not justifying anything, only trying my best to explain. And having seen this argument play out elsewhere I know there will still be some or even many who begrudge these large scale weddings and I understand that.

We need rebbishe tv

It's more of an event for the chassidus, rather than just a wedding. In their eyes, it would be like limiting the amount of people in shul for simchas Torah. Additionally, it doesn't create any pressure for those who aren't rebbe's.

I agree with you completely and that was what I summarized in my first reply on this topic.

It's considered a major event, like lag b'omer etc or simchas bais.

And I can totally understand why they would go through everything to pull it off but the whole way that they printed it in the newspaper it was kind of like that they were posting about how communist russia was outwitted

Writing that chasidim kill people is what ? A compliment?
That thousands of chasidim are doing against the רצון השם and they should tshuva is what?
That their rabbis is going against the torah is what?
Writing that chasidim are morons is what?

You may believe so it's all true,
And I totally don't have a issue with it,just admit that you don't like this chasidim and when in matter of fact you don't like (hate them) them in general

How is going to a wedding of 7000 the ratzon hashem?!?

Regarding the Rebbe's judgement to make the wedding, that's not my discussion.

I doubt very much that the Rebbe instructed them to post a taunting article..

I am not here to feed you with food for thought
But if someone that isn't familiar and reading this thread ,and I am sure some people really believe here , as ot sounds here that there are a few hundered chasidim are sick with covid in hospitals and dozens of chasidim are dying weekly

And again I am still ok with saying number of he will back up his wise statement brushing the chasidim that thier percentage are higher

Viscerally rejoinders will not get you far in the facts of life. .

Arguments such as "we had a wedding for 7000 and no one got sick... So you're all anti semites" is a bit old.

You're like the guy who doesn't want to pay the bus fair and the driver kicks him off he howl's "anti semites"

There's ZERO co-relation to the arguments here..

We have moved way beyond those arguments.

#1 it's a chilul hashem
#2 people get sick and die

#3.. this one is big.. put your thinking kapple on for this;
We have a religion v'nishmartem.. daily I'm bombarded with pleas "kol hamikayem nefesh achas"

Saying that satmar bikur cholim is incredible then holding a wedding for 7000 is illogical.

I didn't even bash anyone, maybe In may I would have. I'm beyond that.

I just find it astonishing that Judaism has attained a Darwin like "survival of the fittest" mentality.

Vus epes, a few will die, mesiras nefesh! Big wedding! Ish Baal yedar!

In this thread every chusid will feel hated, calling name and slurs on thousands of chasidim from other frum yidden is very sad

So take responsibility... Either A) you're not an aroni wedding attendee and the thread isn't relevant to you or B) you are an aroni wedding attendee and need to face the music .

If you defend an indoor wedding of 7000 ..don't cry that we are haters when we question the events decisions in relation to a global pandemic

There is no argument
Only chasidim are dying and only chasidim have the virus and the chasidim started the virus? Did I left anything out?

Lack of communication and inability to discuss intelligently is a problem.

The goyim don't have to give din v'cheshbon.

Whether or not you feel the wedding was justified, going on to mock and taunt the authorities is ridiculous.

As the article pointed out, the satmar head of the shul was niftar from covid-19

Wrong. Perhaps MO canít.

IINM Karlin Rabbi wears a shtreimel & bekeshe. Someone CMIIW

With payos behind ear, I'd easily think it was a litvisher ry.

It really doesn't matter

Most frum Jews actually can't tell chasidim apart, I mean doesn't karlin dress a little like the litvish? I was surprised as a youngster when I saw litvisher rabbanim in america wearing kappotes.

If lehavdil fish made a concert, you can't scapegoat fish fans, well you could say that fans of fish are morons etc.

But by chasidim, you can point fingers at a group, a leadership..this wasnt like a surprise birthday party.

And the gloating about it?!? Are you crazy?!?

While I understand the mentality on the satmar side, if the government is picking on them etc given that a rebbishe wedding is a cause of great rejoicing for all chasidim etc.

Then I read about people dying and wonder what cognitive dissonance exists?

I've heard all the arguments, everyone got it, corona isn't killing people.. etc etc and people are still dying.. so you can have your wedding... It's yihareg v'al yavor, the goyim are doing it.

It's a massive chillul hashem.

What was not mentioned about one of the possible reasons somebody would buy at cost, besides points, If you are carrying a balance in your card, you could cycle your monthly debt and come out ahead, it's tricky and a lot can go wrong.

Bg is a disaster from what I'm reading, unlimited points have become like a virus for many and an addiction.

Realistically speaking I have been doing most of my travel lately on so many different promos, for a couple of dollars I have been able to fight too many US cities on JetBlue and get promotional points essentially spent $115 to five rounds with to three cities that I wanted to visit and also got 5,000 point bonus I'm aiming for the seven round trip flights for the 7,000 point bonus etc
