Politics / Re: Anonymous

I dont understand your point. All Im saying is that donating anonymously is not a new concept at all, the same feature exists on every campaign site -charidy, chessed fund, gofundme,, etc. and this feature is used all the time. The only difference here is they added a shiny new button that literally does nothing but redirect to the same exact donation page, but it pushes a few extra people on the fence to donate.

I think his point was that this is a campaign that many people will only give to if they are certain that they are anonymous (more so than a typical campaign).

I think what he has reason to believe is that the Rebbe's ability to perceive (in any regard) changed after the histalkus?

(my turn to) *ducks*

Ye, that's what I thought. My next question was going to be if he has any reason to doubt the nitzchiyos of a neshama, and it's ability to percive what is going on in the world.

Do you have any reason to believe that the Rebbe's perspective on this issue changed after the histalkus?

Another area we spent a great deal of time on was cyber and cybersecurity, Biden said. I talked about the proposition that certain critical infrastructure should be off limits to attack period by cyber or any other means. I gave them a list, if Im not mistaken I dont have it in front of me 16 specific entities; 16 defined as critical infrastructure under U.S. policy, from the energy sector to our water systems.

Is accidently saying aloud what everyone knew called a gaffe?

As long as people's CBA

Which people? And what about the people who wouldn't move there under current circumstances, but already set down roots?

Politics / Buying Influence 2.0
« on: June 16, 2021, 01:38:00 PM »
For a long time, politicians on both sides of the aisle have been accepting thinly veiled bribes in the form of high paid board positions and speeches for members of their family (or themselves after they leave office).

Since that income stream dried up for Hunter Biden, he has come up with a new (and more anonymous) way of accepting payments, namely his "art."

Is there any reason (other than getting on Joe's good side) why someone would pay $500k (or even $100k) for a collage made by Hunter Biden?

Is there anything that can be done to prevent such influence peddling or at least ensure that there is some transparency in who is bought by who?

(I don't know the context.)

I'll give you some -

Joe Walsh is the guy who said "If Trump loses, I'm grabbing my musket"

Also, Borat got him to endorse a self defense program for kindergartners that included guns that looked like stuffed bunny rabbits

That it's just a hop away from NY

When I was in yeshiva in Kfar Chabad there was a group of American bochurim who said " the best thing about Kfar Chabad is that it's close to Israel"

Just Shmooze / Re: Actual reasons people go OTD
« on: June 14, 2021, 08:29:57 PM »
IDK, Shais Taub recently suggested (if I understood him correctly) that most (I think he even said all) people go OTD due to some sort of trauma. What you're suggesting is much more mild IMHO.

I don't think Rabbi Taub means what you think he means when he says "trauma" but maybe he can weigh in. Trauma can be the result of something major, but it can also be caused by a large number of what would otherwise be minor events.

He spoke about it here -

Then why would you like a post talking about PIT?

I didn't remember liking that post and am not sure why I did. Might have hit the like button by accident (on my phone) but I don't do clawbacks

U would not call it a lie as it was based on who he is.

Reporting a story that you think could have happened but actually didn't is a lie.

You liked my post in the PIT thread but didn't post your views. That is not like you. Can I ask why?

I don't know anything about PIT, and haven't seen the video.

Now Blinken says he won't give the funding unless "they remove the anti Semitic material they teach in their textbooks which is even worse than what the PA puts in."

Wow, good for him (and Biden).

The article doesn't quote him saying that funding would be conditional. Did he say that during the hearing?

disperse a peaceful protest so our moron president can have a photo op

Fact check: False

(Not picking on you specifically, just the first thing that came up when I searched for people posting this lie)

You put some money on that. I will produce statement after statement by Trump on mail in voting.

You responded to a post saying that Trump was not the only one meeting the claim. Yes, Trump said it, but he was not the first or only one to say so
