Credit Cards And Finance / Getting free bags using UR points and United Card at United.com

So I bought 2 United RT tickets through the Chase portal, purposely buying a cheaper flight that I didn't want one way.  I then went onto the United site and changed the flights to my desired more expensive flight and paid the difference with my United card.  Will I get free bags for me and a companion?  CSR said yes but I see a fee for my bags online.  I did not get a cancelled travel voucher as advised in this post: https://www.dansdeals.com/points-travel/airlines/united/reader-question-use-chase-ultimate-rewards-points-get-united-card-benefits/

Do I need to cancel the ticket (which I can only do to the end of today) and get a voucher as advised above? Or will my simpler solution work?

Trying to see my daughter, who is in seminary in Israel, for Pesach in NY.  She received both covid shots in Israel.  Hoping that, even though she isn't a citizen, she can get a green passport and be allowed to re-enter Israel (if she can't she won't come home).  Booked a flight yesterday with flying blue but it was cancelled, likely because KL and AZ are not flying in/out of Israel now.

Does anyone know what the United policy is on award flights that must cancelled due to lack of (re-)entry permits to Israel?  Flight will have to be cancelled less than 30 days before.

Seminary flight from JFK to TLV on AF on Monday 8/24, short stop in CDG, arrived in TLV Tuesday 8/25.  Not surprisingly, given that most girls had 2 or 3 pieces of luggage and less than an hour of connection time, most of the bags didn't make it.  On Wednesday AF customer service rep advised that bags were arriving by 6pm local time.  Best I can tell, the bags did arrive.  Less than 30 were delivered (best guess is 100 still outstanding).  Given the mandatory quarantine, getting supplies is limited at best.  My kid is still wearing the same skirt a week later.

One parent was told that Laufer Aviation is the courier for the bags.  Telephone goes to voicemail.  Emails unanswered.  AF says bags are out to delivery and that's all they know.  Travel agent that booked the flights does not answer calls.  Sem sent a truck to the airport that was turned back (no entering the airport grounds if you are not flying).

Anyone have a contact on the ground?  Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Years ago I used to have an app on my phone that would advise you which was the best cc to use for various categories (grocery stores, gas, etc.).  I didn't have so many cards then and didn't really use it.  I don't have the app anymore.  Now I have a lot more cc's and find I am getting mixed up (4x points on grocery on personal Amex gold, not business <argh>).  Does anyone remember what the app is called?  I looked in the app store and only found one with a similar function but as it only had one review it seemed a bit sketchy.

Flying in and  out of CT and after a few days going to drive along the garden route to Port Elizabeth.  What is the kosher food availability along the way?  Do we need to bring everything from CT?  We'll be there in early July so I'm assuming the kosher restaurant and shul in Plettsburg will be closed.

It did not.  There was total price though that I missed.  Did not catch it until the payment went through.

I booked a vacation rental with Travelocity.  I did not realize that the taxes and fees were per night instead of an all-inclusive number.  Long story short, the vacation rental was cheaper on both Airbnb and Booking.com.  I can not cancel the reservation at the Travelocity (no refund). 

I filled out the "best guarantee" form with the accompanying screen shot.  Was rejected as not including the entire screen.  When I try to display how much it would have cost to book the vacation rental from airbnb and booking.com to get a better screen shot, I can not get it to display because the dates are booked (BY ME).  Sending a different date was also rejected as I need an "apples to apples" comparison of the same dates.  This obviously works for hotels but not vacation rentals.

Any ideas what I can do?  Am I out of luck?

If that doesn't work, I have had good experiences on FT. Posted my issue in discussions and then contacted the FB rep and everything was resolved.

Up In The Air / Flying blue did not issue my change ticket

Originally booked a flight for my daughter from TLV to CDG for April 3, 2017 with flying blue.  Her plans changed so I called in (January) and paid the change fee for her to fly from TLV to LHR on March 29.  Today she had a question about the flight and I couldn't find the updated email.  I looked on the flying blue website and found the correct flights listed but a notice that the flight was cancelled!  Called in, after 30 minutes on hold found out that the original flight was cancelled, the new flight details were entered in the computer, a change fee was charged, but the new tickets had never been issued.  Of course, the flights I wanted on March 29 are no longer available.  The new flight option has a long layover (3 hours) in Rome.  Told I could not speak to a manager.  Told that they could not open up a seat for me to correct their error.  Told I could only book the new option and send them an email.  Did so as did not want to get stuck with no flight at all.  What are my options?  Is it reasonable to expect that flying blue could open up an award seat?  Appreciate any advice.
