Each and every one of our children is a precious gem. The 24 hours of Purim pose a real live danger to Jewish children, everywhere. It is these 24 hours that expose many of our youth to the dangers of drinking, driving drunk or riding with a drunk driver and drug use. Purim parties and celebrations may also put our children into challenging peer pressure situations, for which they are unprepared to combat or resist.

Please review the Safe Purim checklist and ensure a safe and joyous Purim for yourself and your entire family. Here are some basic measures that will raise the odds of having a safe and healthy Purim.

Know where your child/teen is at all times

Know who they are hanging out with

Speak to the Designated Driver and check in periodically to assure they are still sober

MOST IMPORTANTLY- Inform your child/teen that it is OK for them to text/call at any time of day or night to ask to be picked up. Create a simple code word/letter they can text you letting you know they are in a situation that makes them uncomfortable for any reason, and assure them that they will be picked up and taken home with no lectures or blame. Read more about how this plan helped one family here.

Purim is a time to celebrate, we are working together to make it a safe celebration. If you have any questions about how to talk to your child, please contact me via

Wishing you a Freilichen Purim and lots of Nachas from all your loved ones!

I would not send him any codes until you know what is actually going on with 100% certainty.

So after 10 months I found something else that is off. Hard boiled eggs I've known for awhile now, but I had a cholent last night that tasted acrid. Tasted from 2 different pans from the same caterer and both tasted like that. No one else had the problem. I have no idea what is in it that causes me to taste it like that l.
That's a simple example. Now take a chulent with a bunch of ingredients, you try isolating the garlic but the cooking process has to be the same to do properly isolate it.
Had the same caterers cholent again today. Same acrid taste on the back of my tongue that no one else had. Had plenty of other peoples cholents in between and they all taste normal.

Ask not what you can do for your country - ask what your country can do for you.

Impeaching Cuomo would probably do a lot to lower temperatures
What's your point?

(Is Print Screen + Paste widespread basic knowledge?)

You'd be surprised how many mainstream schools don't teach basic computer science.

ISO of decent chrome book for $100-200 that my kids can use only for school purposes.

Thinking about this one:

This is what they had until yesterday when it suddenly died. Bought it 3 yrs ago for $100 and they loved it.

I like this chromebook: https://www.walmart.com/ip/HP-X360-14-Celeron-2-in-1-Touch-4GB-64GB-Chromebook-Teal-Intel-Celeron-N4000-4GB-RAM-64-GB-eMMC-Teal-14a-ca0030wm/853816774

Costs 299 (more than your looking for) but I got it for 220 cyber Monday (black friday it was 179 for about a billionth of a second but I'm sure no human actually managed to buy it at that price).

I've taken the subway to Jamaica 100s of times. I wouldn't say I'm terrified of it, but it definitely is scary and gives me anxiety.

If I were a 15 yo white girl, yes I'd be terrified.

There is a difference between a freak storm and something that will happen every year after year.

I don't get it. Does LI crash because of everyone correcting his mistakes?
You turn the frog over onto its back. Using a scalpel, carefully make an incision across the entire length of the frog's body. Gently cut the frog's legs off, being sure not to break them - you'll need these for dinner later.
