« on: January 24, 2021, 12:01:08 PM »Hi,firstly thanx for your help till here, i didnt get around to testing my hard drive till now.Plug in the hard drive and listen very carefully how it sounds, and describe it here, or maybe you can record it and attach it.
i bought the sabrent sata drive, first time i plugged in the hard drive to test it, it showed up properly and worked for the few minutes i tried it, but now its not showing up anymore.
I tried through disk management and it shows up there but says disk not intialized,
Whats the next step should i intialize it or is that like formatting which will wipe the data ?
What is the exact model of the drive?

I'm using the Technician version, so not sure about the lower versions, but it's using the same recovery technology.
I can only recommend what I know is working, any other software may or may not work.

I think you can do a scan before purchasing, and will tell you what version you need.

« on: January 03, 2021, 09:52:49 PM »Why would the computer overwrite what has been deleted if there is about 300GB of empty space left anyway?Even writing a few files, can be the difference between a full recovery with the complete folder structure, and a raw recovery, which is all files recovered by types without the original name and folder.
The file table is stored in one area of the hard drive, and if the entry is marked as deleted it could be overwritten with very little data.

Am I wrong?
If I am wrong, which paid program would you recommend?
How much would a professional charge to do it?
r-studio is the only professional program that I know which is also user friendly.
If you want to try to do it yourself install r-studio on a different pc, and plug in the hard, r-studio may detect the all the deleted files, if not do a scan on the drive.
Make absolutely sure to copy the recovered from to a different drive.
