It's a different type of audio connector (called RCA connector).

Will try it tomorrow and see what happens, when I originally tried it the screen didn't come on, could be I didn't put it to the right setting.
Maybe you need to change the source on the screen.

Also, make sure that this is the only video connector connected both on the screen and on the PC.

How can I use the HDMI alone?
HDMI carries audio along with the video in the same single cable.

Wouldn't this be a better deal?
Probably would.

It seems that the CPU in the Inspiron is actually a generation older..
Yeah, but the other one is a T model which is lower-power and I'd say it's worse than one gen before it.

Which one should I go with?

It'd be useful if you write what's your pros and cons for each...

If you don't necessarily want a small device, and also don't need Windows Pro, I'd say go with the Inspiron 3000 (CPU is better, has an SSD+HDD, more ports.)

Batteries (normal AA batteries) can be changed, not recharged.

Thanks. And to use the app, I wouldn't need the browser to work?
"The browser" no. But if you have one of those blocks installed by TAG etc this will also be blocked.

Great lesson, don't trust anyone, can you confirm the new version is indeed clean?
Another lesson, don't assume bad intent...

I'm not a developer (I wasn't the one to find it, I just brought it here), but I did a scan on it and this data collection capability seems to be removed.

Waiting for you to report back with your findings.
The developers responded, they very to much understand there concern and are already finishing up a solution that would not include it.

We apologize, we commissioned a developer to build in analytics and we did not realize how deep it went.

We have shut down the site until we have a fix available without the data collection.
We have also deleted all data that was collected.

The issue is now fully fixed.

All collected data has been deleted by our developer.

The Data collection mechanism has been permanently disabled at the server level for users with the old apk, and we have released a new apk without any data collection at all.

We will be turning the site back on soon.

If it were a Chinese website, I would fear that. Did you read the "about" section of that website? Why not ask these guys straight out?
No reason not to ask... I actually sent them an email. But in the meantime people should be aware of it.

Allegedly the launcher app calls back home
According to that person's claims, it does not only "call home" (which would mean a network request, and I would understand it for statistics purposes), but it sends your location and steals your contacts etc as well...

Hey guys,

I noticed a lot of you guys were trying to get apps on the LG Exalt and other 4G flip phones.

Checkout www.apps4flip.com, it features a small selection of apps modified to be installable on the LG and other phones.
Hey, someone claiming here that this app steals the users data and location. Anything you know about it?

Tech Talk / Re: Porting Nightmare
« on: February 23, 2020, 05:11:14 PM »
Actually, that may complicate matters even more since I may have to port from both company A and company B to Verizon, yet company A insists my number is no longer with them.
There is no such thing as needing to port from two companies. You'll need to port from one company and it will be company B.

Your issue is most likely due to the way those MVNOs handle transferring service between them (it is internal switching service within the same network, and is not a real port) and something got messed up there.

Looking for some backup batteries/charger for my A6000. I see a bunch of generics on Amazon, but maybe one of the pros here can direct me to a quality choice?
No camera pro, and no personal experience, but RAVPower is a "known" brand for battery products: https://www.amazon.com/NP-FW50-RAVPower-Batteries-Charger-Accessories/dp/B01JG54F3C
