On The Road / Re: Credit Card Car Rental Insurance

That is incorrect. Each state has minimum set for car rentals for liability. It isn't much and purchasing is encouraged in case chvshalm happens.

This website claims that California for example, does not require rental agencies to provide any coverage, https://www.autoslash.com/blog-and-tips/posts/renting-a-car-in-california-watch-out-for-this-insurance-gotcha

Agree with you in any event that its not smart to be relying on what the car rental provides.

Do you need to get liability insurance when renting?

For US rentals, if you have your own car insurance, it covers liability as well. Otherwise you need to purchase liability.

Need to cancel an SQ award, UA flight, seems to have a $75 fee to redeposit, is there a way to avoid that? Flight is today, passenger is sick

6
no, you'd have to cancel and rebook when/if I opens on the UA flight.

got it thanks

This is not Plan B, but similar idea

I booked a partner biz using UA miles. Can I waitlist for the UA direct flight in case it opens up?

Amazon & Walmart Deals / Re: Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S8 64 GB US Version

Just add to cart and price dropped automatically...could be dead by now

Must have been very short since I tried it pretty soon after you posted.
Curious how it can be that they show a brand new item 100%, but in your cart they put one with damaged packaging.

On The Road / Re: Amex not covering taxes on Israel rentals?

It wasn't me, I was just quoting the other post, and pointing out that the t&c confirms they don't cover taxes. That can be a pretty penny.

Hatzlocho on your situation and let us know

I feel like their definition of a "trip completed" is kind of outrageous.  The point they make is that the trip is completed and hence not delayed per segment.  Segment delay must therefore be 3 hours at a minimum on the first leg, to receive the benefit, even if the second leg is then missed.

Right, agreed that doesnt make sense and isn't fair. Sounds like the kind of thing that if a blogger would make public because it's interesting, and it gets picked up, they might relent.

As always, it seems like it just makes sense to always get separate travel insurance. They're just cheap enough to make getting it a no brainer.

I've had claims on both types, I don't see any difference. They both try to push off and get more documents, but when the claim is legitimate they pay eventually. I only get insurance for medical if needed.

Is it a household account?

No.
It seems to be a restriction since I didn't earn the points through flights. Finally I got through to BA who booked it.
