I booked it on the way home from maldives -- much worse experience then qatar - both in business class.

EY was booked using aeroplan

I had a similar issue -- they could only see AUH to ORD but not MLE to AUH - when I called them they were able to do it, there was a route they saw it open when flying to Cairo, so the aeroplan agent knew the segment was available.
Have QR on the way there and want to try the EY apartments on the way back. Also saves me in taxes on infant ticket booking with AC. Did you book the AUH-ORD segment first and then call in to add the MLE segment? Was it easy once she say the Cairo flight or did you have to HUCA? Any advice or a walkthrough of how you/the agent was able to book it will be helpful!

2017. Took a lot of HUCA and calling AA AU and NZ.

Didn't Aeroplan only add EY as a partner this summer?

I had all sorts of married segment issues with EY.
In the end I had success booking AUH-JFK and then adding MLE-AUH after ticketing.

This was recently? Have tried that without any luck. Did it take some HUCA or did it seem like a simple process for them? How long after booking first segment did you call back in to add the second? Also, any idea if I were to book AUH-JFK would I be able to add a third segment JFK-LAX?

Is it a new policy  or is there any reason I am not able to get aeroplan to piece together a MLE-AUH AUH-JFK or LAX flight on EY? Tried HUCA and all agents seem to have no reason why they can't piece it together but they say that when they chose one segment they are suddenly not able to see the other. Even when I book the segment they can't see and ask them to piece on the segment they can see as available that previously available segment disappears.

Weíre only 2 ppl
IMO just book a normal OWB and email them asking for what you want. Or you could email them prior to booking. Start with asking for sunset and maybe even just flat out ask for room 535 and see what they say. I would also tell them youíre considering other hotels.

So would you recommend to book a smaller room but with the sunset view?
How many people will be in the room? Do you feel you really need the suite?

I think we were recommending booking into a normal OWB room and then emailing to ask for a sunset view. Maybe even try asking for a suite!

We were talking about the suite. That's what jackfirst booked

I apologize if that's the case! Misunderstood the question.

Check out the resort map here. Isn't it just 535?

Check the legend. Itís every OWB on that side. Only reason 535 is a different color is because itís also a suite it seems.

Planning to visit in December. Debating between the St Regis regular overwater villa or the Westin in an ďunobstructedĒ overwater villa. Both cost 100k Marriott points.
On one hand the SR is pure luxury but it seems Iíll get a better room at the Westin.
Iíd appreciate any input from the community.
Thanks
Might have good luck emailing SR MLE and asking them if theyíll give you a comp upgrade to a better room. Not unheard of that they would do that even pre corona so itís possible with less business they might upgrade you (any status could also help). Other options they might give offer is have you pay for an upgrade in cash or points or simply nothing because December can be busy for them.

Is there a way not to get charged for the compulsory X-mas dinner at SR?

Yes. I got it waived by explaining I donít celebrate Christmas cause Iím an observant Jew. They waived it no problem.

I doubt there are any. Pico is the closest pizza shop area.
I would imagine any open pizza shops would readily deliver to that area though. Try Mucca Dairy, Pizza Mark, Bibis, can likely even Uber eats Pizza Mayven.
