Deals/Deal Requests / Re: Finance a large SUV
« on: July 30, 2020, 01:34:03 PM »
I will suggest you to buy an used one, even an 2020 but used.

If you want i can pm you a number of a guy that could help you

Why do you suggest 2020 preowned cars.

I can see how price affect the cost of 2nd hand for older cars. But for newer cars, the discount you get doesn't exceed the benefits of having a new car.
I've even seen low miles latest year car more expensive than brand new cars running some specials. Especially for the big trucks or SUVs.

Conclusion for this hour long media, 1 thinks vaccine is good, 1 thinks vaccine is bad, 1 is a referee adding more heat, 0 facts provided to audience.

This is why media these days are a waste of time.
They don't provide you facts. They just bring people to talk.
They pit 2 or more biased opinion people to argue each other.
I can be on any of these shows and talk whatever crap I wanted to.
The more famous the bigger d**ks they are.
This is no different then watching wrestling trash talk just without one sneaking up and slapping another with a chair.
I get more useful stuff watching Oprah or HSN.
Waste of time.

Deals/Deal Requests / Re: Laptop Deals Master Thread

Looking for a good portable laptop as I cracked the screen on my current one (Dell Inspiron 13 5000) so the touchscreen doesn't work anymore and is already about 5 years old so probably not worth fixing.
I could get the same model (more or less) for about $800. But thinking about spending up to $1000 and upgrading. Any advice on what to get? Any good deals? Specs I would like is 256 SSD, at least 8gb ram (although 16 would be better), at least a recent i5, lit up keyboard, touchscreen, and light (3lbs or less would be perfect).
Based on some basic looking around, it looks like my 2 best options are eather similar to what I currently have (Inspiron 5000 or 7000) or a Zenbook (I like the touchpad numberpad they have. Looks cool and I will probably put that numberpad to good use). But I've seen some really bad reviews online re the Zenbook. Any advice? Any deals? TIA

What situations that will make you need the touchscreen and lit up keyboard?

I don't really find those as a requirement but more of a bonus to have so I'm curious what makes you need them.

On The Road / Re: Hertz Master Thread
« on: July 10, 2020, 12:54:02 AM »
I believe her liscence was either expired or she didn't have one. In NJ

She's *******.

Not only would the at fault insurance company would be denying the claim, your own insurance would also deny the claim. Not authorize to drive is not much different than getting in an accident on a stolen car. First and easiest reason to deny.

Hertz could also ban the renter whose name is on the agreement for life. I assume Hertz would never put anyone without valid license additional driver in the first place.

Small claims court?
Should I get a lawyer?
You can try but I can't really see how you could win this if she shouldn't be driving the rental.
Now, if you owned the car or she was listed as additional driver, there is a good chance the at fault insurance would still need to pay even without a valid license.
And you should wish it's an expired license and not a no license case, the former is a lot more forgiving than the latter.

P.S. You should break up with her, you never know what trouble she will bring you in the future.

Say what?

Ever heard of a typo?

Shh!!!! :-X
I planted that for @Joel2 to test if he comprehensively read.
P.S. Most of the time I give the benefit of doubt as typo. (which really isn't because the meaning changes) But if this isn't missing one character, this is adding one letter and one punctuation. Not only that, but it has been used one post earlier too.

Damm, this is reply now gets Bubbe's attention.

I dont think its "jewish" i think its more of a local thing. I think we can all agree if a local store had a deal that was clear that they would be losing money on, some of us would pick up the phone instead of ordering. As opposed to the Amazons/Walmarts of the world were we would just order.

Now that's comprehensive reading!!!!

Your another internet troll no need to be offended

Look who's talking.  ;D
This response is more than enough to show your level of knowledge.
I never said I was offended, I merely suggest such action is discrimination, which seems more too common now.
Your lack basic comprehensive reading skills is really affecting you command of the language.

Huh? Your not answering - just asking to explain someone else?
Holy Judas!!!!
You're the Bubbe who lacks basic comprehensive reading skills from the other post. No wonder.

So tell me what is the so called fine line between a mistake on amazon and a mistake of a steakhouse...

Or you could explain me about ethnic discrimination.
I dont think its right to take advantage of a price mistake from a Jewish store.

Credit Cards / Re: Amex F/R Master Thread
« on: July 04, 2020, 02:48:51 PM »
Just spoke to an underwriting rep. She said if I pay off the full balance on the card (which I do every month as it is), that will be enough and nothing more would be needed. She did imply that going forward there would be a hard limit...

Great that you are aware of why.
I kind of suspect it was a charge card doing this too. What we know is charge card doesn't have an official limit but always still have an internal secret limit so you can't go spend a million dollar (the hard limit).
Even if you paid full, if you look at the credit card side of FR, one trigger is recycling credit line. So once you combine the two (if you did recycle), it might trigger this.

More DP would be useful as a future reference for members. Things that might be useful is
Like what was the usage the month that trigger vs other months.
How many times you paid the balance that month.
How many % you spend compare to you highest credit limit of the AMEX non charge card and % compare to total credit limit of every AMEX card?

Might be worthwhile to know how extreme you push before the trigger.

@TheDroid You forget to check the name of this forum gonna give you a hint,  DansdealsFourms
And most deals aren't published sales :)

Aren't we all here for good deals?  ;D
I am very well aware.  The question is are you?
There is still a fine line between deals and taking advantage of a mistake.

This isnít a question of ethics but ok

Bigger issue than ethics here is issues about ethnic discrimination?
I dont think its right to take advantage of a price mistake from a Jewish store.
So you are fine taking advantage of other ethnicity?

I also got a voicemail from Amex underwriting about a time sensitive business matter. They want me to call back.

Anyone who can offer any assistance, I'm all ears.

Before we find some defensive plan. You can get asked for those documents if your spending vs limit doesn't match well, which I feel is still better than 4506-T.

What card(s) do you have?
What did you think you do to trigger it?

Then you came to the wrong place  >:(

This isnít a question of ethics but ok
