Thanks , i assume thats the best discount i would be able to find on a one way rental for a day?
Obviously depends on the CDP code as well when it's a one way because some can charge per mile, but the majority of PC codes need a minimum of 3-5 days normally.

use @SuperFlyer app! I've used it all over Europe and saved big!
And don't forget to leave a review ;)

USAA only reimburses ATM fees, and IINM actually charge FX fees. It’s a great bank for domestic use, but for international go with Schwab (Schwab actually are aware that many, if not most, people that open a checking account with them do it for the foreign ATM access).
I stand corrected.
I withdrew USD in a foreign country and was reimbursed the ATM fee which confused me...

If eligible USAA can be a great option.
They reimburse $30 a month IIRC in FX fees/ATM fees.

(due to folks who were kashering money)
LOL. Don't know if this is an old one, but I never heard it..

Up In The Air / United redesigns boarding process
« on: Yesterday at 07:03:16 PM »
For good or for bad? People will always be lining up waiting.
I don't think it's all entirely new...
Beginning September 18, we’re unveiling boarding enhancements — designed to improve your overall experience when boarding — at every airport across our system. We’ve been focused on a better boarding experience and want to let you know about a few key enhancements you’ll notice.

No need to line up before your group is called: Simplified lanes – now only two – with new signs will allow you to sit back and relax at the gate or spend more time within the airport.

Less crowding: Since we’re saying so long to five lanes and simplifying to two, there’s more space and easier access to the boarding door for customers exiting the plane from the previous flight and during pre-boarding.

Improved digital displays and boarding communication: Monitors around the gate will display clear and relevant information about boarding and your flight. If you prefer to spend your time away from the gate, you can now opt in to receive a United app notification that lets you know boarding has started.*

Thank you for being a United MileagePlus® member, and we look forward to seeing you on board soon.

Tech Talk / Re: Internet Filters

Ha, give me any iPhone and I can find you the restrictions code in as much time as it takes to back up the phone to my computer.
The Android ones are a lot easier then that...

To protect my teenage children, I'm looking to filter a Kindle Fire and an iphone5.
We also have a PC using K-9.
What will filter the browser?
IPhone has a great built in restrictriction system which is almost fool proof.
To have a decent filter on the Fire you'll need a paid (not cheap) membership.

Up In The Air / Re: Now a 40% Bonus for MR transfered to Ba avios.
« on: September 16, 2018, 11:52:11 PM »
I'm trying to determine if this is more useful than the 25% bonus to B6. any thoughts?
With Citi and Chase at 1:1 with B6, I don't think an Amex equivalent labeled as a promo is anything to write home about.
1:1.4 Avios is a generous bonus considering the normal bonus was just 20% previously IIRC.
Obviously depending on the usage you have for it but this bonus can definitely be useful, AAMOF I'm considering transferring some for stock despite not being short on BA (by comparison to my other accounts.)
