There is so much confusion with alcohol in general.

When a list says 'not recommended' they should explain the reason why, so ppl can make a decison for themselves (ex. Sherry cask).
Imho, when they write 'not recommended' on bottles like glenlivet 18 or glenfiddich 12, 15, 18 etc, w/o reasoning when most ppl drink these, it cheapens the whole list and ppl disregard it.

Chabad was great. I was there with my wife and we sat on round tables with about 8-10 people. It was actually fun. But there were two Chasidishe men that sat on their own table. I guess you could ask for whatever makes you comfortable.
+1.
We davened Shabbos day Mincha at the Altneu-shul and went together with the locals to the jewish community center for Seudas Shlishis.

I remember reading somewhere that they certified some of it for the future
I believe that is for their Van Goh Vodka products which have an OU. Not sure about other products.

The article concludes they could certify. DId they certify?
In this case the Sazerac company is fully owned by jews so i believe they didn't certify it.

Thanks.
Sure.
I'm assuming there's an argument the other way, because most kosher stores sell these products, I just haven't heard it yet. All kashrus lists 'do not recommend' them.

The Sazerac company brands, including buffalo trace, blantons, eagle rare, pappy and many more, owned by the Goldring family, don't sell their chometz and thats where problems arise.
However the Heaven Hill brand(Parker's, evan williams, elijah craig), owned by the shapira family, sell their chometz and is kosher-see star-k list.
All other major bourbon brands are owned by non-jews.

When I was at the Buffalo Trace Distillery, the guide mentioned that by law the distilleries cannot sell directly to the public, (I believe it depends on the State, how large the total production is and if allowed it's capped at a certain amount per customer), therefore it would not be cheaper in Kentucky or even at the distillery's own gift shop.

I went to Kentucky . I dont recall it being much cheaper. You can get rare bottles though
+1 on it not being cheaper. I would say it's like anywhere else, there are cheaper stores and more expensive.

I went to maybe 7 stores and found Total Wine and More to be cheapest, though i couldn't find any rare bottles anywhere.

I would only add, IME, bottles not widely distributed outside of Kentucky were cheaper there.

I'm looking for a place with seating.

Then there's 3 options

Down to earth
Slices
Chocolate soda

Correct?

Has anyone splurged on these $500 Flamethrower's?

Isnt it just a glorified blowtorch?

Does anyone know if it would be permissible to drink Sake from this brewery?

I met one of the owners Brian and he invited me to stop by.

Additionally in general does Sake need a hechsher?
