Nordic Countries was designed for 2-3 players, so the board is tighter.

We own most of the Ticket to Ride games.
I would recomend the Japan/Italy expansion for couples playing together.
Japan introduces a cooprotive element to the game.
For a more complex game, the UK map is highly recomended

I also recommend our house rule: If you win, you make supper!

COVID-19 Discussion Board / Re: The current state of COVID-19 in Israel

Many stores are closed. Bus service is reduced.
Many shuls were open on YK
The Mir was emptier that RH. Had a separate minyan for bachurim in bidud (40+ in bidud, not all attended minyan).
Belz is on normal schedule. (No masks at all, went to jammed tish last night)

The question is really at what point they're going to start really enforcing the rules. Right now it seems to be understood that they are giving a light hand to avoid a political firestorm from Shas and UTJ.
Will it be before Simchas Torah or after?

No police I agree with. But mask wearing is about 85% on Malchei Yisrael. Can't say about the other areas.

During the week, sure.
On RH it was WAY closer to 5% than 85%.

Spoke to several people who have walked over multiple neighbourhoods in Yerushalayim on Rosh Hashanah and today and only saw a couple of policeman and weren't asked where they were going or stopped. Last night I saw a police checkpoint near Gesher Meitarim and they were stopping cars in both directions but today its gone.
Not much of a lockdown..............

Walked from Romema to the Mir multiple times.
No police.
Also no masks.
(I had a running count of how many people i passed and how many were wearing masks, it was less than 5%, though almost all the Gurers I passed Shabbos morning were wearing masks)

Now they are floating closing shuls for Yom Kippur, daled minim shuks, and mikvaos for erev yk. There will be open rebellion if that happens.

Its just compounded by the perceived ineptitude of the government and mistrust of a leadership that seems to be outright making things up.

I was listening to Reshet Beit this morning, and for the first heard some lefty politician stating that there has to be consistancy with the regulations, if there's a limit on tefila there can be a limit on hafganot...the same way tefilla is outside your house, be mafgin outside your house.

They can "closing shuls for Yom Kippur, daled minim shuks, and mikvaos for erev yk"... we (chareidim) are not going to be listening to them.

COVID-19 Discussion Board / Re: Israel (Not) Reopening To Foreigners

What about students. Will they start that up again??

Your guess is as good as mine, though I think that it will be much harder to convince them to resume allowing students now.
They've seen what the compliance rate is...
If we know that they don't check up on marrieds bidud, the corona team also know that...
Also the infection rate is much higher now.

I third that (or fourth ?)
I was here since the beginning and what I see is the same level of compliance throughout. Besides the nose slippage I see sometimes. That wasnt around before

Generaly true.
There were two "Chareidi" groups that had issues with compliance: Certain Chassidim/Mea Shearim types and the Peleg.
Now there's a third group: Those returning from Chu"l, who are used to disregarding masking "recommendations" from where they came from.
That's in addition to the natural reduction of care masking due to time and "mask fatigue".
So while the level has gone down, it's still high.
Walking the street, you will almost always see people without masks. A visible minority.
In Mea Shearim it's not a minority. Round Belz its close to  50/50.
In the Corona Hotels almost no one wears a mask ;)

I wasn't in all of them at the same time... but between my family and myself it was all at most second hand knowledge.
Correct it does not, but nobody takes that into account the other way either. I was just pointing it out and ofc you got upset about it.

Not to pile on but the plural of second hand anecdotal knowledge does not equal data

Mask compliance is very high here. It's easy to say that as long as everyone wore a mask, we'd be in better shape, just not sure how accurate it is

Depends how you define compliance.
Walk through Geula or on Shamgar and almost everyone is wearing a mask...somewhere on their body ;) on the chin, round the neck, in their hand...
On buses there's almost 100% compliance.
In certain neighborhoods there's almost 100% non-compliance.

Deals/Deal Requests / Re: Where can I get it? (Israel edition)
« on: September 15, 2020, 07:31:14 AM »
i have a few boxes in israel that need to be shipped to NY. Whats the cost effective way to get them here?

depends what's in them, and how desperate you are to get them to NY quickly...and if you have some one in Israel to deal with it.
If you have time and patience, you can send it a little at a time with people traveling back.
If it's seforim, there are a number of places that can ship it for you. The last time I asked in "Next To the Mir" it was about $250 for a pallet of seforim. (it was a couple of years ago).
If you need it quickly...$$$

If the govt falls, will the seger end?
🙊

No.
It's easier for the govt to do what ever it wants without Knesset oversight.
