but might be easier to implementTrue, although a button in post editor might make more sense and should be about the same.
Not sure how port forwarding is relevant when we’re talking about USB storage. So what if you forward a port, how secure is this drive? If one wanted to access their network they can do so with a port forward. So regardless of how those files are stored, it should be possible. Easy? Probably not and I haven't seen anything with a built in UI for the onboard USB.
Exposed to the internet is probably not the default for these kinds of things, and might not even be an option on some consumer routers that have such a USB storage feature.Fortunately Port Forwarding is around on pretty much every router thanks to the gaming industry. (It definitely isn't the default)
That very much depends on network configuration. Connecting to the router directly doesn't automatically expose it to the internet.A very true point. In addition exposing a port on one's router isn't recommended, for security reasons. It's definitely a potential use though.
To create storage that’s available to any computer on their internal network. Imagine like a Google drive kinda thing, but located onsite where any of your family’s desktops or laptops can access the shared drive to save, browser, and retrieve files. It's not limited to the internal network.
