Just Shmooze / Re: Is It Ethical?

Not even sure if this would work, but also not sure it's ethical:

Son went to ER, bill falls under our deductible, so over $1k. Called the hospital and offered to pay right away if they could give me a discount, they said they can't do that.

Is it ethical to let it go to collections and see if I can negotiate with them?

General Discussion / Buying gift cards
« on: March 03, 2021, 09:27:09 AM »
Hi, what are the best options for buying $50 gift cards (Visa, AMEX, etc)?

When I'm buying $200-$500 for meeting thresholds I'm not as worried about the card fees, but buying these as gifts, and the fees can end up being a much higher percentage.

I'll have the bag at work tomorrow, will post the info then.

OK, so I'm trying to make a kiddush hashem story, but no luck so far, can you help?

Found a should bag lying in the street - has ID, credit cards, cash. No phone #. Tried calling the banks and asking them to tell the cardholder I have his bag, pass along my number. They refuse. The best part is that one of them was Wells Fargo. I asked them, "wait, so you can open up accounts in their names, but you can't let them know I found his lost bag??"

I tried googling the guys name, no luck (yet).

Any suggestions?

I think if I made it small enough to see in one screenshot, it would be too small to read. But I just printed the 2nd page to PDF, so try this:

It's a PDF, it's not 2 separate pictures...

Didn't see this posted, though I may have just missed it. OK, it seems it's too big to post as an attachment, and posting as a picture only shows the first page...any suggestions?

I'm not denying that it's bad, the point is:

a) there's a difference between a storm impacting power vs bad policy.

b) that doesn't change the fact that this tweeer, and others, were just waiting for an opportunity to rebut Cruz, and any opportunity would do.

You know this guy has been watching Texas for the last 6 months, just waiting for a lightbulb to flicker so he could post that.

Is that because of the stereotype that people who are frum are bad writers?

This is from last weeks FJJ

Right next to the "Like" button, there should be another button labeled "WTF?"

You put words into my mouth. Someone feeling incited doesn't prove he was incited, but it is supporting evidence. If dozens of people say there was incitement, there likely was incitement.

There is a very big difference between testifying "I felt incited by Donald Trump" and "Donald Trump incited me". One is a feeling, one is a fact.

I disagree - they're both feelings, but one is phrased to sound like a fact.

Saying that someone incited you is, in effect, saying that you felt incited by them. It just tries to make the fault lie more on the other person.
