Tech Talk / Using an unlocked sprint galaxy s8 in Israel
« on: January 19, 2020, 12:08:45 AM »
Can I just pick up a prepaid SIM when I get to Israel and use it in my unlocked sprint galaxy s8?

ISO of something to do and somewhere to eat for dinner to break up the drive  between Tishbi Winery and Beit Shemesh in late January for me and my wife (no kids with us on this trip).  Looking for a fun or cultural activity, my wife is not a nature/hiking person. Any interesting restaurants? Possibly cuisines that are not easily found kosher in the US or some more artisan type food.

Anyone recently try to transfer from Marriott to AA where the address and last names match but not the first. Should I anticipate any trouble if I attempt this?

I wonder if they will go to 12.5K per leg for US domestic awards like the rest of the market. They could also add in additional fuel surcharges and close in fees.

Up In The Air / Booking SWA with Chase UR By Calling In
« on: March 11, 2019, 01:06:24 PM »
Has anyone tried Booking SWA with Chase UR by calling Chase recently?  I know that it was not available recently, but is that still the case?  I know I can transfer to SWA directly but if I can get the miles I might as well plus I want to see if the 1.5 makes it a better deal.

Up In The Air / Rumor about new direct flights from ORD>TLV on LY
« on: September 07, 2018, 12:09:15 PM »
I am hearing rumors about a new direct route ORD>TLV on LY but cannot find any details on it.  I googled it and searched here but had no luck.  Anyone here know anything about it?

Anyone else find the quality of the Chase Freedom Bonus categories pretty weak lately?  I feel like they sued to be much better and they have become less useful over past 2 years.  Just my opinion, wondering what everyone else thinks.

Have people had success calling BA to book AA Saver awards that do not show on BA website?  Want to get some feedback before I waste my time.

I am heavy user of BA rewards for domestic flights so I am thinking to stick it there

Has anyone ever tried loading a BB with a regular Walmart gift card?

They don't sell any ready made shabbos food besides challah.

Kosher Kingdom has pretty good food.

Anyone know if the Publix at 9400 Harding Ave Surfside, FL 33154-2804 has good kosher options for shabbos take out?  I know Kosherland is right there but I am just figuring out my options.

Any deals on quality white right now?  Ideally something similar to the $20 Paul Fredricks.

Credit Cards And Finance / SPG spend for a wedding
« on: August 10, 2015, 02:58:11 PM »
My brother is likely getting married at a SPG property later this year.  Is the best card to put any hotel related charges (not just rooms but catering related charges as well) the SPG amex or is there something better?  It looks like it should give 5X points but the web site is a little vague.

I am looking for Miami area hotel Recommendations, starting Dec 10th for Thurs- Sun (or possibly Mon) (I know it is a while from now) with an outdoor pool (Is it warm enough to swim outside in December in Miami? If not then an indoor pool would suffice) .  Near restaurants and a shul would be a plus, preferably Shabbos friendly.  If I can use, MR, SPG, or UR it would be ideal (in that order).

ATM is working again and it looks like I grabbed the wrong card at the register, doh!

I'll give it another try today and see what happens.

Tried to load at the register today and was declined as debit not allowed.  Also the ATM had all functions disabled except basic ATM functions.  Don't know if its short term or permanent but there is definitely something wrong at the WM in downtown Chicago.

Yes it allows you unlimited minutes to the US.
And yes you need your phone unlocked.
You can order the SIM to family.
