I totally do not see a reason to buy a new computer.  Unless its a bloat install, or hard drive dying, there is nothing wrong with a Windows 7 PC (and if those are the issues, windows 10 is the same if not worse).  You should feel extremely uncomfortable asking the school to pay for new computers...

My school currently uses a very outdated laptop for the students to take tests (I believe they're still running Windows 7, ridiculous I know). im trying to do some research as to which laptop will be the most cost efficient and student/user friendly that I can present to the school. It doesn't need to be anything top rated, just durable enough to last and fast enough that it won't time out during exams. anyone have any recommendations? thank you
Windows 7 is fine.  I don't understand why its not enough to take a test, that's for sure..

P.S. I still use Windows 7 (with 3rd gen i5, 8gb ram, and 500gb ssd), and i'm extremely happy.. feels faster then most new Windows 10 PC's...

Just as Equifax announced a settlement for its massive data breach, Capital One has revealed that someone hacked into its systems earlier this year. According to the company, someone exploited a "configuration vulnerability" that allowed them to access and decrypt customer data affecting over 100 million people in the US, and about 6 million in Canada.

Asking for a friend:
To whom this may concern,
I have had my Israeli driver's license since 2011 and have been driving in Canada since 1998. This past May I received a speeding ticket for the first time while driving during the morning hours on the empty highway by Pizgat Ze'ev, Jerusalem. The fine given was 1500 shekels and 10 demerit points. I'm interested in knowing if there is any way to lower the fine/demerit points as this is a first offence.

I was looking at this Wirecutter article on digital privacy and they recommended Privacy Badger, in addition to uBlock Origin which I am already using. Curious if anyone here has experience with Privacy Badger and what it does that Ublock doesn't...?
Never heard of it.  I use uBlock Origin with Nano Defender.  It's less about privacy and more about making my browsing experience less painful.
Either way, anything from EFF is good.

I use Malwarebytes and a few days ago it was getting stuck at "check for updates". I figured I'll just remove the program and redownload and install. That worked for a day and two but I am now having the same problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Free version?
