I posted this question in the deals thread looking for good tire deals, but I think this is a more appropriate place...

If I buy my tires with my SPG card, will I get an extended warranty on them?
Thanks for any and all input

So I just called firestone and they are charging 417 for four firestone affinity touring tires (they claim that it's a mid-grade tire, but does anyone know anything about these tires?) I can add 15.00 per tire for the road hazard warranty which covers me if I get a nail in the tire or something.

Also alignments are 80.00 bucks but 179.00 for unlimited alignments for the life of the car, so I assume I shod just get that, right?
Ha! Sam's Club (which i thought would be cheaper) is charging $500 for goodyear tires (and that's with an $80 off coupon)
I guess firestone is the cheapest...

And I guess i'll also get the alignment package- 179.00 for unlimited alignments for the life of the car (that way i'll always get alignments and they can't void my warranty due to a bad alignment...)

road hazard based pro rated based on tread use

And what does the road hazard cover?
If I accidentally drive over a nail will they fix it?

depends on what you want from your tires. There's touring, performance etc... I would suggest you go to tirerack.com and use their comparison tools, and go into your local shop and ask for a price match.
Thanks

Honestly that site just confused me even more!
I guess i'll just have to go to Firestone and hope they don't rip me off...  :-[

Not to hijack a thread, but I will. What work needs to be done on a car at what point. I never trust the mechanic. When do I need to rotate the wheels, change filters, etc.?
I was told that tires should be rotated every other oil change. So every about 6k miles, or 2x/year.

When I get oil changes they rotate the tires for free but it just takes an extra 25 mins which is annoying
Air filters also get changed during an oil change

450 all in is a great price. Granted that I got expensive tires, but I paid almost 1k for a set of 4 all in
Thanks!

So how do I know if the tires are any good? What kinda questions should I be asking? I've never bought tires before and I'm not too savvy...
Thanks !

450 all in?
Depending on the tire, that can actually be a good price
What's considered a good tire? How can I tell?
Thanks!

Hey everyone!
So it's time to get a new set of 4 tires for my car... I got some estimates of about $450 from both Midas and Firestone. But I think that's really expensive!!!
Anyone know of any decent deals??

Does Walmart have good tires/warranty? (I heard they sell bad off-market tires but dunno if that's true)

Thanks in advance
Ps if I buy it on an Amex do I get any kind of warranty protection?

It has always been 1.95 per the T&C's. It is now being enforced.
Weird! In the past I was only charged $.50!

14
Twice in the past week I got cash advances from chase and b of a from my vanilla debit card. I thought it was .50 cents but I see they're charging me $1.95
What gives!?
Amin doing something wrong?

Just call the # to set the pin.
Oh that's annoying. Now it's gonna be a whole day affair.
Thanks for the info
