Amex will only cover you for CDW

Doesnt the regular cc cover you for that for free anyway? What is the benefit of paying for the additional amex for?

I am looking to rent a car and there is a whole line of different insurances:

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)

Special Coverage

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI)

I am not such a big בקי in these insurances but if I were to go with the amex option for 24.95 will i be covered for all that i need (meaning all that is listed above)? 

I called to ask if the regular card benefit covers convertibles they told me only cars up to 50k....
