I used to believe that Bitcoins biggest threat was alt-coins and specifically Ethereum. The BTC ledger does nothing but record transactions (i.e. what happened) but ETH also accepts programming (i.e. if -> then, smart contracts, can issue alt coins to represent tangible assets like houses and cars), which seemed like a significant value-add. Logically too, the first to market tech isn't always the best version of the tech because others stand on their shoulders and build. But so far they're enjoying name recognition status and staying far in the lead - so I hold by my prediction but my timing is clearly too early.

I got an invite from gemini. 3% back in coins. Imagine buying something, returning it 3 days later, and the clawback is 10x what you received in rewards 😂

There's a mistake in the 2nd meme.
Starting in the 4th sentence, they switched out Bob and Sally.
They should have written:
"Sally wants to put many of Bob's friends into concentration camps......"

By and large it's the Democrats who want to stifle all speech but their own.

See I told you so.

Curious how many people here read this and thought, "That's right, those other people need to let go of their blind rage and learn to think and understand my side, because I already understand theirs"?

He can offer them 25% of wallet on contingency.

Which kind of points to the story being fiction

Egg and the chicken or something like that. If it was true.

Also not sure that IronKey can help because if they have built in backdoors pretty sure the military would be upset.

There are a lot of promotions now for free membership, looked into any of them?

I'm a member because of a "free" promo - meaning they gave me a $45 credit on my first time checking out, offsetting the membership cost. Then they asked me to upgrade to Plus for an additional $55, and I said no. LMK if there's a promo for Select but I'm pretty sure you meant the basic membyship

How hard would it be to change the 10 tries & lost forever setting ?

I have an IronKey from work and there doesn't seem to be a setting that disables the self-destruct security. Even if it's possible, it's not going to be an option while you're locked out of the drive.

Every time BTC spikes we get another story like this. Last time it was the guy who threw away his old hard drive and was sifting through the city dump for his $100M+. I'm too cynical but a lot of this is just attention seeking people making up a story about a large account that hasn't had transactions.

I hope there's not an ounce of truth to that and I'm not clicking on any of the links to find out

The Republican Party becomes repugnant but the democrat party splits?

That's one man's opinion is all and maybe more of a hope than a prediction. A moderate version of the Democrats becoming our new right wing is something I could live with. BTW, in most first world countries their right is already that or even further to the left.

All kidding aside I do think there are problems with the two party system we should be trying to fix.

In the near future the Democratic party will likely split into two, the more moderate Dems forming one party and the more radical ones forming another- with the voter base roughly split across age groups. This will happen as the Republican party becomes more of a Repugnant party and normal people can no longer associate themselves with it.

I would not... Wait it out a bit. It's so unstable now.

This is where one might potentially have a use for stable coins  ;D

You're making this very black and white, and it's just not. Bernie has a different approach to it than someone like Yang for example - which if I had to guess is actually the politician @yos9694 supports.

Much closer to Yang. I find it problematic though that in this country believing in individual issues necessitates blindly buying into every other idea that a political party or politician has
