The Wiki needs to be updated for AA.  They now serve kosher meals in F for most flights that meals are served https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/experience/dining/special-meals-and-nut-allergies.jsp

I am currently flying AA488 (PHX-PHL) and was served a very nice Borenstein meal.  I may post a picture if I figure out how to remove my name from the picture.

I've done a couple of hidden city tickets with DL.  I got the miles and had no other problems.

As long as you don't do it too often you should be fine  (what's too often, nobody really knows)

If I match my US Gold status to TK Gold status, would I be able to get UA lounge access, even when crediting to TK?

(IIRC, I could, but the only way to do this would be to change the FF# at the gate,  am I wrong about this?)

I just bumped into this thread so I will add a minor tidbit of info.

I recently flew EWR-ZRH-TLV/TLV-ZRH-FRA-EWR in a combination of UA/LX/LH on business reward tickets.  I bought the ticket for myself with UA miles and for my wife with US miles

UA added my baby for $356.  US had wanted nearly $1K to add the baby.

When I tried making changes to the ticket, still within the no charge to change rewards period with UA, I was told that the infant ticket was like a revenue ticket and subject to a $250 change fee

12 minutes by train from the airport to Zurich cental station.  The frum community is around a 15 minute walk or short trolley from there.  Not expensive either.

I've done both.  Maybe I am the exception, but I did not find ANA to be much better service.  In the fact the FAs spoke incredibly poor English and it was hard to get anything from them.

AC has given me the best service on this route.  UA's seats are probably the best

Hi folks,

I am new here, so please be gentle with me.  I tried looking around for some help regarding my trip to Isreal with my baby, I even tried posting on flyertalk.com, but I am not getting adequate information.  Perhaps this audience is more "family friendly" and has more specific experience and can help me.

Basic story is that my neice is getting married in Isreal.  I booked two business class award tickets for me and my wife (that was all that was available as an award at the time I booked).  I need to take along my baby who will be 10 1/2 months old at the time and not very small.  The airlines confirmed bassinets, but various forums are getting me concerned that they might not be big enough.  Any experience with my specific flights or any other ideas how to deal with the baby (and in general make the trip manageable) would be greatly appreciated.

Update:

My baby weighed in at 20.5 lbs a few days before the trip

I asked in the lounge about an empty seat for my baby on UA and the response was something like, "sure there are seats available - the cost is $5200"
 
When I was connected in ZRH, as soon as I got to the gate the agents noticed I had a baby and went on the computer to find an empty seat. (They approached me before I could get to them.) When they noticed that there were empty seats, but not next to me, they paged the lounge to ask the person next to us to see if he would change his seat (he did).
 
On the way back, there were no empty seats so this wasn't relevant.

UA - Bassinet was flimsy and too small. We could not use it.  We had him sleep on one of our seats in the flat position while we sat at the end of the bed/seat reading and keeping him safe

LX - On one flight they proactively found an extra seat for him, as mentioned above (which he didn't end up sleeping in).  On the second flight we used the bassinet. It was a drop tight, but we put him in already sleeping and he slept for another hour.

LH - Pretty good bassinet.  He slept in for a few hours and once even went to sleep in it (with a little encouraging on my part)

In general, I still think that two business class seats were a lot better than three coach ones would have been (except perhaps on the first flight).

I flew this route yesterday and last week (RT).  It is a very respectable business class product, from the best ones that I have flown

I filed a complaint 4-5 years ago.  They were typical Swiss; extremely formal and proper and with technical [documentation] requirements that were impossible to meet before they would respond to my complaint

US issued a waiver almost identical to UA, but it seems to have since been pulled off their website.
