I posted a few weeks ago that I'm giving away SNA for paid stay in 2020.
I had booked someone (for free) and he got upgraded to the top room. I took care of the all reservation for him.
The guest asked me to insert a code for caregiver, which brought his stay to half of the price.
Obviously I'm doing all of it for the stay and points credit which was mentioned to the guest prior to his stay.
A week after the stay and the night credit didn't posted. I called marriott and they told me that this rate wasn't eligible for night and points credit.
I asked the guest if he can compensate me by booking another stay from my account or compensate me with money for my time and the lost SNA.
In response he called me a fraud and threatened to call Marriott to let them know that I book other guests from my account!

Until you are the seller and want to get paid for a cert lol.If the buyers are saving 90%, the risk is on them. That would only be fair. 90% savings with a 10% risk. No where else can you get numbers like that.
Everyone knows there is a risk here... Though 90% of the time there is no issue and the risk is the same no matter who purchase from. We also clearly spelled out when you submit a booking request.
Buyer is staying at hotels for 10% the listed rate, the broker (myself) makes 10%, the major markup is on the buyer side therefore he takes the risk.
Once again, you may disagree and you are entitle to start a business where you will take the money back from sellers 8 months after you paid them and see how that goes.
On this site I'd bet most people are using points or FNC's for their hotel stays not paying cash rates.More often than not cash rates are cheaper than what's being asked for the free night certificates here.

Book 4 nights at $75 per night ($300) and pay only $105!
When selling jetblue travel credit how do we prevent the seller from getting scammed? like if i sell to buyer how as a seller can I protect myself I have about $1k for saleIf they try to pull something, can't you cancel the flight?
Yes they change from peak to regular to off peak.$200 is a bit much sorry. Regular cash price is about $200. Thanks for the info though I'll keep checking and hopefully they go back to 35k.
I have 40k certs for 200 though.
