What does the van cost?

Zion says he is 350 shekels.

Either a large van or 2 cabs. I'd price out both and go with the cheaper.

For large van, I always use Zion  (052-384-3221 or email him at For a cab, Bar Ilan has always been the cheapest (other than the private drivers who do it as a side gig)... Be aware if you take a Bar Ilan cab, you'll need to walk to a different lot than the main one, as only 1 taxi company can do pickups from the taxi level, and they are a rip off (over 100 shekel more than Bar Ilan IIRC).

Thanks, Shaul Yaakov.  That's a big help. I'll send Zion a note.

Selling 2 x $100 AA Gift Cards @ 85%  - Please PM. Thanks!

Hi everyone -

Looking for advice on booking star alliance one way from TLV to IAD with Aegean miles on or about July 16 next year.

Not all of the airlines have their dates up yet, but when I called Aegean the options they gave me were to go on Austrian via VIE or Turkish via IST, each with about $300 in YQ.  Which flight would people recommend out of those two?

United and Swiss don't have their schedules up for July 16, but for earlier dates, the United website shows a flight through Zurich, where the first leg is on Swissair and the transatlantic leg is on United, so I would hope that Aegean would charge a lower YQ for that.  But they said that their computers aren't showing this flight for any dates.  I've read elsewhere that Aegean's system doesn't always show every airline's flights. What's the best way to deal with that? HUCA? Ask for a supervisor?

Also, what are the changes of finding July award flights on United or Air Canada that I could book with Aegean (family of 6)?

Thanks chevre!

Anyone in DC or Silver Spring interested in a DO after the chagim?

Anyone interested in a Baltimore (or Silver Spring) DO after the yomtovim? Would love to compare notes.

Hi chevra. I'm planning to use AA miles to book 6 tickets from PHL (ideally) or JFK to TLV next summer. A couple of questions.

1. For the nonstop PHL to TLV, does anyone have any tips or tricks for getting the 45K SAAver seats? Does AA make them available 11 months in advance or closer to the date of the flight? Is there a time of day where AA first puts them up?  Or is it better to book 65K seats and then change them to the 45K ones if/when they open up later on?

2. For stopping over in Europe, it looks like the options are to go from PHL or JFK through Madrid with Iberia, PHL/JFK through London on BA (with surcharges) or from JFK through Berlin with Air Berlin. Are there any other good options on AA's partners? How difficult is it to find SAAver seats on Iberia or Air Berlin? And for flying through London, how difficult is it to find SAAver on AA flights to London and then BA flights from LHR to TLV - taking BA for both legs doesn't look k'dai. How much time should I give to make sure we make the connecting flight? Is two hours too short a window (esp with 4 kids)?

I'm thinking of using the shul next week for a 3 week trip.  It seems that people have had positive reports. Has anyone had any problems there? Thanks!

I have two AA GCs - one for $100 and the second for $150. Selling either or both at 80%.

Slightly off topic - does Citi Prestige reimburse for AA gift cards for their $250 airline fee reimbursement? Is it best to buy $100, $100 and $50, or a different combination? Thanks!

How strictly is Chase enforcing the 24-month rule for BA cards these days?

I've got two AA virtual gift cards for $100 each. Selling at 85% ($170 for both).

The 75k for 10k spending came up for me just now using Safari on my iPad.
