i applied for a United credit card from Chase( I have the freedom, 2 SW and the CSP card with them). I got the 30 day notice and last wk I saw online that I was approved. I was on vacation and just returned home and opened a letter from Chase re: the approval. I was approved for a credit line  of $18,600 but they reduced 2 of my other Chase lines. 1 of the lowered limit I didnt mind but they reduced my CSP from $18,000 to $5000. I have not used it much in the last yr but that is a significant decrease. I also dont need a $18,000 credit limit on my United card. Can I call Chase and negotiate with them to increase my CSP credit line and decrease my United? I mostly fly American and SW but I am going to Europe next month and United had the cheapest fare plus  the 40,000 offer. Thanks for replies.

On The Road / Hyatt Ziva or Zilaro in Montego Bay

Too busy with school and work I forgot that I had points from opening a CSP. I would like to use them towards stay at one of the above hotels for a little getaway. What is the best way to do that? Do I transfer it to Chase portal then book from there? Thanks for replies

General Discussion / EZ Pass and rental car
« on: November 28, 2016, 04:21:34 PM »
Last night I rented a car at NJ airport. I had my EZ PASS with me but did not remember to take it out when I went through the toll. Several yrs ago,  I was driving a rental car and went thru the $1.00 toll. About a month later I recieved a bill from them for  $1.00 but they also added a processing fee and if my memory is correct I believe it was for  $25.00. I made quite a few phonecalls but the rental car agency  refused to budge so I am asking-is there anything I can do now or wait till the bill comes and try again to fight it. Thank You.

Up In The Air / Did AA get rid of 24 hr hold
« on: November 09, 2015, 04:44:26 PM »
I was on AA site-I wanted to book a one way flight from PHL to LAS and there are several departure times-not sure which would work out best for me, I chose a departure time and planned to put it on hold but there was no such option. I have done this several times esp when Im not sure of my best departure time for me. Did they get rid of the 24hr hold?

Recently, my job transferred me to the west coast. I decided to take my BOA visa card that I have not used in a yr. It was on autopay when I had a balance but it has been zero balance for awhile. While checking my credit score I saw that it had dropped aprox 60 points so I did an annual creditreport check and saw that BOF have reported latepayment more than 30 days. I was shocked so I gave BOA a call who informed me that the card was no longer on autopay and that the late payment would be on my credit report for 7 yrs. I have excellent credit and a good relationship with BOA and the bank rep kept saying it over and over however when I asked her if she can remove my first negative item in 20 yrs-she responded something about its a state law and she cannot remove negative items. I don't know how true that is. Do you think I should try calling again and hoping to find a sympathetic rep or any suggestion about writing someone in hopes of having it removed? TIA

I have 3 airline cards-AA, JetBlue and US airway. I recently had a job transfer and I am now living on the west coast and I  find that the airlines with the best price and time schedules for my travel needs are Delta and United. I have the freedom and Sapphire with Chase and the blue, green and JetBlue with AMEX-just throwing that info in -I'm not sure if there are limitations on the num of cards you can get with each co. So any good reason to apply for any of the above cards? I have great credit and last may I was approved for the Citi ex, Sapphire and US Airway cards.

I used 25,000 of my advantage miles to buy a roundtrip ticket for my sister on AA. Talk about major miscommunication. I booked her for this weekend and she said her plan was for next weekend. I called the advantage number at AA and voicemail said they are closed for the weekend. I was hold on AA for 1hr and 20min and finally gave up. Prior to that I left my num-they called and I immediately answer then the line was disconnected. Does anyone know if I can get these miles back and if so-how do I go about doing it?  Thanks I would appreciate any replies.

On The Road / Need inexpensive hotel near JFK
« on: August 20, 2014, 05:42:07 PM »
I live in Philly but flying on JetBlue out of JFK next Thursday. My flight leaves at 0630 and I plan to take a  shuttle from Philly wed night,-stay at a hotel so I can get to the airport on time. I just need an inexpensive hotel to sleep for a few hours. Any suggestions?

Today I received a letter from Barclaycard that they were modifying certain terms of "your Barclaycard Rewards MasterCard". The first change is the Penalty APR and related provisions have been removed from your Cardmember agreement-This means that we will not automatically  increase your APR to a Penalty APR when you make a late payment. That's not a problem for me because I have automatic payment to my card. The 2nd modification states effective October 1, 2014 "we may, from time to time, obtain employment and income data from third parties to assist us in the ongoing administration of your account"  I guess Barclay wants to keep an eye on their creditcard users to see how they are using their credit.

Credit Cards And Finance / Southwest Premium and plus cards
« on: July 22, 2014, 04:10:21 PM »
Last wk I received an email from Southwest with an  invitation to apply for a  premium rewards cc with a 50,000 bonus after a $2000 spend.  This offer exp 8/17/2014. A friend of mine also sent me an email -its a referral for the SW plus card  also with 50,000 miles and that offer expires 9/30/14. I would like to apply for both but wanted to wait until the 3 month mark because in late May I was approved for 3 new cards-the citi exec, Chase sapphire and US airway and I have  since completed all of the spending requirements.  I wanted to apply for both cards at the same time but I am  thinking my chances for approval are better over the 3 month mark. Any suggestions as to best chance of approval -I know Chase can be very picky. TIA.

Credit Cards And Finance / clicked on wrong citicard executive link
« on: May 23, 2014, 03:51:05 PM »
Today I applied for 3 credit cards -US airway, Chase and Citi executive. Got approved for all 3. I had to call in on US airway and Citi but was approved. So while going over benefits the rep  from Citi said "60,000 miles if you spend $5000. I then asked-is this the citi executive card with 100,000 bonus miles if you spend $10,000? She said no and offered to cancel the card  but suggested if I wanted to reapply to do it tomorrow.  Only 1 application per day. I asked if it will be a  hard pull and she said no-they only do one pull in 30 days. When I checked back it was an old application offer that I clinked on. Not happy. I will apply tomorrow hopefully this rep knows what she is talking about about the pull.

I plan to do a 3 cc application this morning and as advised, I did Barclay US airway first and got the dreaded "not able to approve-will review. Very disappointed-should I huca now  or wait until I apply for the other 2 which is Citi Executive and Chase CSP?
