Hello All,

So granted we do not know what will happen between now and then with Corona, but we have a group of like 6-7 who would like to visit Ukraine/Israel starting on 4/25 for about a week. Maybe do US to Ukraine and then from there to Israel or the opposite on the way back.

We have around half a mil of each Amex MR points and Chase UR points.

Any idea how the best way to book this would be? Is it out of the realm of possibility to try for business class?

Very interesting and eye opening. The carriers are using their FF programs as collateral!

Hello All,

Short story version is we ordered a custom kitchen for 25k and charged it on our Amex card. Thing gets delivered and its damaged as heck and terrible quality. Like serious defects in the workmanship. I called the merchant to try and get some help with this. First they asked for pictures, then they donít call me or return any calls or anything since the 14th of this month. I got fed up about 2 weeks ago and called Amex and put in a dispute for the full amount. The truth is after seeing the terrible quality we donít want this, we just want our money back and will get another kitchen.

To be perfectly honest, if someone ordered 25k worth of stuff from me and they called me with an issue I would show up at their doorstep the same day if I could. So Iíve also come to find out they have shit customer service which I also want no part of.

Finally, only today (16 days later) do I get a call from someone in customer service there asking to schedule an on site visit to inspect the cabinets. Also, it must be done TOMORROW as the guy coming has limited availability. My question is, do I let them come in and take a look around? I feel as though they will try and find ways to discredit my claim if I do. Iím sure they will also offer to repair whatever issues there are, which Iím not interested in at this point as they are so numerous and the quality so much lower than what we expected. Will this hurt me in my dispute in any way or am I required to let them come in?

Thanks Guys

Up In The Air / AA cancelled our flight and screwed usówhat to do?
« on: March 27, 2018, 02:46:30 PM »
Our original plan:

AA flight @ 7am LGA to MIA
Rent a car in MIA, reservation already made a while ago. Drive to Orlando for 3 days. Drive back to Miami and return car there.

What AA did:

AA flight delayed 3 times then cancelled due to mechanical error.
Put us on standby for 4.5 hours. Everything oversold.
Gate agent felt bad for us with 2 little kids and pregnant woman so they rebooked us on Delta through JFK to MCO.
Bags went to Miami on alt flight.
Rental car costs now 3x because itís one way.

AA arguing with me because they are claiming I opted to go to MCO instead of MIA meanwhile their gate agent did it as a gesture of good will. They donít want to help us with anything for the rental increase or not having clothing or anything for little kids for 1-2 days now. Oh yeah the switching airports was also hell on earth.

Up In The Air / Award Trip Cancellation -- Miles Redeposit?
« on: October 23, 2015, 03:34:10 PM »
Hey there city slickers,

What's the best way to book an award ticket if I may need to cancel it afterwards?

Are there fees to Redeposit the miles and how much? I'm asking across all domestic carriers.

Is there a wiki with all this somewhere on the site?

Hello All,

Tried searching in the forums but didn't find anything.

Has anyone every flown with these guys before? Their safety record seems fine, I'm just more interested in personal experiences with their service, comfort, meals, etc.

I've read in other places that they don't have any in flight entertainment, but my flight is on a 767, how could that be?

I recall seeing something last week on the site about rentals through sixt or something. I looked through back posts but couldn't find anything.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? Anything else anyone know about for decent deals for cars for pesach in Miami?

General Discussion / Pay more on Amazon for 5x points?
« on: December 16, 2014, 11:05:32 PM »
I need to purchase something which is about $1700 dollars. Was surprised to see that Amazon sells it as well, however its about $150 dollars more on Amazon than it can be picked up for locally. Practically speaking, is it worth it ordering it on amazon and paying that extra amount to get the 5x freedom bonus? The item isn't prime, so would take a while to ship/receive I guess. Although not in a terrible rush, waiting longer always sucks.

On The Road / Any tips on how to get a deal on a specific hotel?
« on: February 28, 2014, 11:01:16 AM »

My family and I are looking to stay at the Grand Beach Hotel Surfside in Surfside, FL for Pesach. We need to stay in this area because it is next to the shul and where we will be eating for the holiday.

On their site they only list ocean view king rooms for 440 a night. Any ideas on how I can get a cheaper rate? Maybe by calling them?

Any help is appreciated!
