I think the only piece of the story we are missing is what are you thinking?

Or what were you thinking?!?! ;D

Up In The Air / AA longer hold times for Elites
« on: August 21, 2015, 12:14:05 PM »
Has anyone else noticed that since AA got their new phone system a few months ago, the hold times (at all hours of the day) have increased dramatically?

On one occasion the platinum number had a hold time of over 60 minutes while the regular number was only 6 minutes.
On another occasion (at 4AM) it was 23-30 min on the PLT number and 7 min on the regular number.
Just now, it was over 65 minutes on the Platinum number and the regular number was only 8-12 minutes.

I have tried this out numerous times of day in the last few weeks and has always been a much longer wait time when calling as an Elite.
In all scenarios, the system recognized my Aadvantage PLT number from my phone number before placing me in the queue .
Before the new phone system, as a platinum member, the only time i ever had to wait more than 2-3 minutes was in the event of extreme weather.
I was in an airport yesterday and an EXP member next to me had the same complaint as she waited over 30 min to talk to someone on the EXP line.

On The Road / Hack Hyatt's Stay More Play More offer (1st QTR 2015)
« on: January 17, 2015, 09:48:26 PM »
Saw this on another site:
The link for the offer is

Personally i was targeted for the best offer (65K points after 25 nights) but that may not be the best offer for you.

On the landing page you need to enter your Hyatt Gold Passport number.
After doing so they will show your offer which is targeted.
Once you see the initial offer DO NOT HIT REGISTER

Change the hyperlink:[YOUR GOLD PASSPORT NUMBER]&_requestid=339824

Remove the [YOUR GOLD PASSPORT NUMBER] and enter your own Hyatt Gold Passport number and change the 65KSTAY25.html to something like[YOUR GOLD PASSPORT NUMBER]&_requestid=339470

That will give you a 20,000 bonus point stay for 10 nights "20KSTAY25"

2k points 1 stay for: 2KSTAY1B

5k points 2 nights is: 5KSTAY2

For the tiered offer of stay 20 nights for 50000 points is: 50KSTAY20B

Stay 5 Nights Get + 5,000 Points = 5,000
10 Nights + 10,000 Points = 15000
15 Nights + 15000 Points = 30,000
20 Nights + 20,000 Points = 50,000

The best offer (IMHO for those who will have enough nights) is the tiered 65KSTAY25

15 Nights + 30,000 Points = 30,000

20 nights + 15,000 Points = 45,000

25 Nights + 20000 Points = 65000

« on: November 01, 2012, 11:18:36 AM »
Anyone else get this?

Got an email this morning from Hyatt:

David ********
Membership Number: 5********
At Hyatt, we are excited to have the opportunity to show our appreciation for our most valued guests. In recognition and appreciation of your loyalty, we enthusiastically extend to you 50,000 United MileagePlus® award miles, to be deposited into your MileagePlus account within the next 2-3 weeks. We hope you enjoy this gift on behalf of Hyatt and MileagePlus. As always, we are truly grateful for your loyalty and look forward to welcoming you back very soon.[/qoute]

I didnt see this anywhere and thought it might help some people.

If you have AA status and you book an award ticket on BA, you wont have access to the preferred seats on

The simple way to fix that is to use Click on "my booking" and put in your BA record locator with your last name. You will then see an option to "update your details".

Simply replace your BA # with your AA #. Go back to and you will have access to the entire seatmap.

Credit Cards / Am i crazy to show a Cap1 my credit reports?
« on: April 29, 2012, 04:42:10 PM »
I applied for the capital one venture and was (IMO- wrongfully) denied within 60 seconds of the app which means the computer denied me autmatically.

I called them and finally got them to agree to have a human look at my app. The reason for denial was not consistent with what my credit report showed when i pulled it a day later.

They asked me to fax them a copy of my credit report for them to review. I would be sending them copies of the big packet credit secure (amex) sends you when you enroll with them.

It shows my 3 credit reports and scores...

Is there anything in there that they couldn't already see that i dont want them to see? Capital one pulled all 3 reports anyways...

Up In The Air / AA Award ticket loophole is closed
« on: February 19, 2012, 08:27:05 PM »
Didnt see this posted anywhere. Based on a FT thread, it seems the loophole to book an award ticket for 21 days out and then change it to within 21 days has come to end. The $75 fee will now apply if you try to do so. Obviously would not affect elites.

I could not find it in print on anywhere...
