When canceling airline trip booked through Chase Sapphire Rewards is there any way to avoid the $150 per person, each way, cancellation fee? Canceling to attend a wedding, adjusting vacation schedule, no medical excuse.

Up In The Air / Strategies for Bidding on Upgrades
« on: January 07, 2019, 08:10:45 AM »
Booked Cathay Pacific V Class Economy JFK to YVR using CSR points. Cathay Pacific rules prohibit upgrading from V Class with money or miles, but permit me to bid on upgrade to Premium Economy.

Are there any good strategies for bidding?

I see that KOSHERWHERE.COM advertises kosher meal delivery in Europe. Have you tried this and, if so, what has been your experience?

What rolling garment bag would you recommend? Looking for it to hold a suit, and several dresses.

Up In The Air / Delta Sky Club at JFK

Is it possible to arrange for a kosher meal at the Delta Sky Club at JFK?

I see that their rules prohibit bringing in outside food. Do they strictly enforce that if I bring my own in? (I want to eat dinner and relax before boarding, and then sleep through the 7+ hour flight if possible).

Up In The Air / Looking to buy 2 JFK Delta Sky Club single day passes

How can I obtain these at discounted prices?

How much before an International flight (NY JFK to MAD) may one check in luggage?

Delta Airlines Flight leaves JFK at 7:30 pm and arrives 7 hours 45 minutes later, 9:15 am Madrid Time. Thinking of checking in maximum early and then going out (or back home 15-20 minutes away) for dinner. We have Priority Pass for Wingtips Lounge in Terminal 4, but I read that they restrict access after 5 pm, and they do not serve a kosher meal.  We also have KSML dinner available on board but will prefer to sleep through the flight if possible. I will have to pay to park while checking in, but I'm ok with that.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

What exactly is the difference between each of them as it relates specifically to the post-Shechita examination of the animalís lungs? I think that Bais Yosef insists that the lungs be completely smooth with no possibility of a hole which would render the animal Trief; Glatt Kosher is ok with a scab on the lungs so long as it is removed and then no hole is found; and Kosher is also ok with a scab without  trying to remove it. Is that correct?

Is it Halachically permitted to go swimming on Taanis Esther? Is it permitted to receive a professional massage on Taanis Esther? Reason for this fast is not aveilus for Bais HaMikdash, so I understand that showering and listening to music is ok.

I notice many frequent DDF posters seem to travel quite frequently and extensively. If you are not retired and you are working for a living, how do you get all that time off?  Perhaps you are self-employed and/or traveling is part of your work? Just curious... please post
